Pretty quiet in here... what are you working on?

3/8 drive 14mm socket and 3" extension. After that a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter would fit. If you have a ballsy 3/8 impact then no adapter of course.

Its hard to get them tight enough with just 2 wrenches. Meaning they should be tighter than you can remove with 2 wrenches. Extended length boxed end Gearwrenches work nice in a pinch. You really only need one extended wrench and one standard length wrench.

AFAIK, drive shaft bolt torque spec is around 40 lb-ft. The lock washer is supposed to do the work not torque to yield... I've never had mine loosen at 45-50-ish

I was able to get the DS bolts off using my 6 point wrench and the aforementioned 3 inch extension on my 3/8 breaker bar. The wrench was just long enough that it made contact with the leaf spring and that was all I needed. Follow-up question... What's it mean if 3-5 tablespoons of gear oil spill out from between the pinion and DS flanges?

New plugs, wires and air filter in. According to @beno I have something "funky going on" with my distributor so he's having to send me out a new cap and rotor. The one I have is shorter and fatter than the one the parts book specs. Next up is the front axle service. Any other 40s in the club in need of an axle service and want to come over and do it one Saturday at my place? Also does anyone have the oil seal installation tool sizes for the 40 I can borrow?

Yes I do. I have the Marlin Crawler oil seal SST. Remind me with a text/call before Wed's meeting so I remember to bring it.
You are replacing the pinion seal as well, no?

I need to do Rhea's 80.

Hybrid isn't quite the right word. Little electric race car (RC). His is kindof a hybrid because it started as a nitro engine and now its electric.

My RC crawler is the only wheelin I get to do anymore! Haha!

Unfortunately no and no. I'm heading to Kings Dominion with the fam on Wednesday. My hybrid supercar just got some additional parts needed to finish the build but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Ahh, I thought you were thinking more along the lines of this...
