Pretty quiet in here... what are you working on?

WOW Bob! x2 on glad he is OK... Looks like the cab held up very well. Those pictures make me feel good about my choice of vehicles, for sure.

You could salvage that engine and throw it in an 80 or 62 for a tow rig/wheeler. ;)

It would be cool if the frame didn't get tweaked to put the 45 body on it.

Ya that ain't happening. She's tweaked!

I like the 5.7 in a 80

Every air bag deployed which really paid off for Matt. Makes me an air bag believer. I like the 5.7 in the 45 but Lylia won't budge.

Sounds like a job for Forge Specialties! CruiserDan and Beno both say it isn't possible though. But what do they say about time and money?

image.webp New tow rig Bob?

BK do I get a commission?
Or would Matt?
To soon?

finally fixed the fuel leak in the 4runner and got the original rear driveshaft back on after a rear u-joint replacement.
4runner feels like a tank after driving the trooper for so long. The 4.88s and 33s combo pulls VERY easily. I'm just not used to the grunt anymore.
Pretty sure i'm going to order a softopper soon, fix some rust, open up the wheel wells, then paint or monstaliner the truck desert tan.

I ain't done $h!t. This week!

Last week I got the passenger side knuckle done. Taking my radiator to the shop to pressure test it on Tuesday when I get back into town. And start the drivers side knuckle.
Got my rear bumper welded up. Need to make a stop and latch for the swing out. Hope to get it all done this week.

I'm a bit late posting this, but finally installed the H41 and rebuilt 3-speed T-case with a great deal of help from Matt. Now I can hear my stereo at 45mph and my ears no longer ring for an hour after driving on the interstate.

We also replaced the oil pan seal, rear main seal, pilot and throw out bearings, etc. while we were in the vicinity.

It's true what they say, the difference between the H41 and H42 is that you have to shift half way through the intersection with the H41. But you can also start from a dead stop on the level in 2nd gear. It just about makes the truck stall-proof, which is handy when it comes to young drivers who are still trying to get the hang of using a clutch.

Earned a trip to the ER for 3 stitches last night after slicing the tip of my left index finger with a utility knife. I was finishing up my last test fit of my track bar before final welding. Booo.
I will be back out there this afternoon to get it done.

That sucks!

I got my sliders back on, A/C cooler skid plate bolted to the ARB, hi-lift mounted to my spare and spare parts and tools loaded up. Ready for CMCC!

Finishing my anti-wrap bar tonight. I still have to repair my air line between the compressor and air tank and add a push button start.

Both knuckles are up sized and ARBed!
Radiator is in! Still have to fill it!
Screwed down the shifter and the twin stick boots!
Have a gusset to weld on the tire carrier and it's done! For now!
Get the camping gear around, get spares and tools packed! And buy some food.
And I'm READY to WHEEL!!!
