The diff will still be turning then, but not under much of a load. Man this really is a bummer considering your schedule of events. Do you have extra drive shaft fasteners to take along?

Right. Still turning but not under load. I think it will stay together for the week (fingers crossed). I have the fasteners that I removed with the driveshaft but no spares at the moment.

I think I have some in my 80. If not my wife's 80 may have some. She carries the spare driveshafts. Her truck is in Albuquerque but she will be at Cruise Moab with it.

Thanks Dan. I need to stop at Toyota Bountiful on my way home today for a couple other things and I might see if they have some in stock as well.

I just called Toyota Murray. They have some if required.

Nut, 90080-17239
bolt, 90080-10294
Washer, 90560-10H00 (this is a set-substitution and a quantity of one gets you 4 washers in the package. If memory serves the new washer is not a split lock but rather a thick hardened flat washer.)

Note the rear driveshaft fastener diameter is 11mm and the front is 10mm. The thread pitch on both is extra fine, 1.0mm.

It almost sounds like the pinion bearing races were not seated properly when installed.

Sounds like it. Depending on which one it may be easy or difficult to fix.
