To help solve a puzzle for all piggy purists, if you have OEM seats in your pig post up photos of the center pattern in the vinyl and also pictures of how the seatbelt gets to the front seat.

It appears that I have a rare piggy front seat, or maybe a newer one, who knows. Mine has what has become to be known here as a basketweave pattern vinyl as opposed to the prevailing "X" pattern, with the seatbelt buckle passing THROUGH the bottom cushion as opposed to the more common "between bottom and back" style.

Anyways, heres some pictures of my front seat. The rear has the same patterns.

Are you sure your's has not been recovered?

If it has it's a dam good job! Honestly I do not know for sure. They did NOT come with the truck when we got it. My daughter bought them from a guy who was parting out 'Cruisers so we do not even know the year but they DO fit perfectly in the truck without the need to redrill holes or move mountings.

Let's post up and find out!!

Cruiser Guy,

It just hit me, the 79 and up FJ's have a gray vinyl sides and back with a heavy elephant type grain on the face. Anyway the sides look just like these....Could they be 79's??

Anything is possible! I'll post up pictures of the regular grained vinyl of the sides here in a bit.

Did those seatbelts go with that seat or are they from the 76? Only reason I say that is because of the wire which was the seatbelt buzzer wire and was available on only the later

Well the seatbelt plugs into the wiring harness and it works with the buzzer!! The '76 also has a seatbelt warning light as well. I honestly cannot remember if that EXACT belt was in the '76 or not though.

the seat belt will have a manufacturing date on it...you might check it out and see if it is marked 1976 then it pretty much rules it being on a 74....my 0.02

These are Kief's 1977 that he shipped to me, the seat belts come between the back and bottom.

Howdy! IIRC, my fronts looked just like Shane's, dark gray, nearly black. The door skins are the same color. I've had yard sale bucket seats (unknown origin) in the front for 20 years, but the back is still stock. It looks just like that, I think. I haven't had it set up for over 5 years. No more kids at home! John
