Okkkiiii, today we took off the seats to wash out all the old dirt and make sure all is good under the vinyl, haha, I am pretty sure we are the first to do that. Look at the 25 years of junk. This truck was owned by a cattle owner for most of its life, so that's why all of this is in. Also, I believe there was a DOT3 oil spill that caused some of the paint to peel.

Tomorrow morning, we are going to brush, vacuum, and then wash. All at home. Then treat any surface rust before putting it together.

I have had a successful result with Ward's 79 inner cab treatment and will do the same. Unfortunately, no good sample of his at the moment.

Dang!! so the idea of why I clean it and not the bodyshop or my body guy who come to work at home is:
- bodyshop gonna take more money then ill see paint on dirt and i hate that
- My body guy is fabulous but no time to book him and he gonna costs me more.
- it is also satisfying that i know what I cleaned, now I am pretty sure it needs sanding, prep, then painting.

I tried to replicate the factory look using sound dampener materials. My original factory dampener was a gooey mess.

Cleaning starts at Post 133. Sound and heat layer starts at Post 168: Somewhere in between those two I managed to get a new floor liner which was repurposed from another application. Part number and modifications are in the thread.

We are going to replace the old heat pad with one that is like OEM. I don’t think we are doing sound denting, but I will ask the client.

The most important part of this process is to ensure that all surface rust is fixed before moving to more humid areas.

While waiting for for the bodyshop to call us to bring the truck, I went north this time to acquire this beautiful fzj79 LX for a client that insisted to have a white truck no matter what 😂😂

It is late 2000 production but the same as Jacob’s: one tank and plastic seats.

Before going to the bodyshop I got the chance to unplug the cluster so i can air clean and take care of the cluster

The bone is good, the glass is good too but needs a polish. it cheap to get a glass but this one is good

The rear layer is good too.

however, the main point of taking the cluster out is to replace light bulbs to make the blue fresh again. Here is a comparison between the two sets

I was wondering what that annoying pinging is above -70mph😀
On a 70 it's a little plug in module top left of the cluster (in the harness not on the cluster)

While waiting to see progress on the body work, I ordered a drive seat cushion; it is amazing that Toyota still makes them. Please note that this spans from 1999 to 2009. It does not fit the 90s/80s years.

The common issue that I see with low mileage or high mileage is bad weather straps. I will recommend Jacob to replace them.

No talk for long! Been busy with documentation on another project, but this one is nearing completion.

So I was planning to do the lights for the cluster myself, but I felt, no, I don't want to mess with it. With a lot of pressure on my friend who sold me the lights, he agreed to clean up and install them, and I am super glad I did.

He is bad at taking pics and videos, but I wanted anything from him.

This is before cleaning

Here is the cluster apart; so scary to look at. All parts are good, and no need for a new case.

After all the cleaning, he called me to ask me to put a new glass. His recommendation came after he found that the tips are so orenge and nearly new, so no need to repaint it.

Here is a video of the cleaning

It feels so bad to write after more than a month. The body shop was a waste of time and energy; I went to another shop, and he was nearly destroying the plan; then I took it to a shop I had worked with before. Why not go in the first place? He was packed with cars.

The idea of painting is to refresh the bed for many years to come and fix the interior 3DOT-Oil spl. BUT, keeping the body not touched

First, we took to washing the bed and underneath it to take out any dirt from the shops.

A week, then we got into painting
