In the morning, we retrieved the unibodies and screws so the shop could start putting them together.
Almost shiny naked aluminum. People who paint aluminum, WTH man!

Then this afternoon, the shop surprised us by almost finishing the job! I hope this truck will be completed by Saturday.
The case is about to be ready. I think by tomorrow afternoon, he will ask us to collect.

@DrRock First, I apologize for not responding to your text because this project was just started.

Those styles evolved over time as local shops refined them for Saudis' needs, "exploring or hunting." It used to be much simpler, but it started with the boxes you want to make.

I think I need to write a thread about its history

Very cool, thanks for the information, looking forward to the thread! No worries on the delay, I know you’re busy which is great.

Trans is done and soon will drive it out of mechanical shop

I brought the Multi D so we can try to do a final wash "without using a steel-brush! I hate them on aluminum."
All oil plugs will be replaced with new ones. Must be all silver.

But before we drive it out, beautiful-looking shafts are going to be in. Jacob is serious about this truck being fully serviced. We can rebuild, but pricing here is good to get OEM new units.

Old stuff to be remembered. I know the master cylinder looked fine; maybe the previous owner replaced it a couple of years ago. However, over here, it is extremely rare to see someone including a note with all the fixes that occurred during the truck's life.

Last week, got a new Aisin fan clutch, but the bolts did not fit! Most likely the unit got a wrong packaging, or my part guy got scammed with not original Aisin.
To save time and provide higher quality, I opted for an OEM unit. "You scored an OEM one, Jacob! haha"

Examining the housing, the information before cleaning suggests that we need a new clutch.

Last night, we finally got the last part for the case shifter; I hate it when all the work stops because of one tiny thing.

Then, later today, a last-minute call for late shopping resulted in getting a water jar and a resonator. I still need the throttle hose; it should arrive tomorrow.

Those trucks came with split rims, and the previous owner installed the new model tubless steel rims. I don't hate them on gray. And to keep all tubless, we got one rim for the spare.

Great work as always Meshal. I saw many of these tops while living in Riyadh, especially in the Turaif area but I don't recall ever seeing one on a 75 series when I was there. The 79 series had already been out nearly 20 years when I was there so I think everything was built for the newer model. I'm sure I could have had one built. Too bad we didn't meet while I was there.

I also could never find the "saddle bags" that go over the transmission hump for the FZJ75. Al Sanidi only had the ones for the FZJ79.

The truck is out, and it's time for a short trip.

I then stopped by a showroom in the village to check out an FZJ79 and saw that. Jacob, let me know if you want such setups

A common gift I like to add is this cable. Suitable for low gear work and winch, and you can use it on the highway

I appreciate that “gift” every day!! 👍🏻

New shafts make a big difference; the drive was smooth. We performed steering alignment too and all good

The view of this road is timeless to me. All my life, driving through this cut.

The new wheel needed a better tire, I found a decent matching tire at my storege to mounting it for the spare.

We went through that cut many times heading to the dunes west of Riyadh. Also went to the edge of that escarpment to the northwest of Riyadh a few times. Incredible scenery.
