Took the back bumper off. What do most people do with the tabs, just cut them off?

Just got the Tuffy in! First looks seems like a good fit. Not sure if I'll mount the cup holder in the front or rear and move the console the opposite direction. Likely the front.

I think rats may have been in here before and I'm not sure what this funny wiring is about. Had it going to ground looks like.

EDIT: Some how that wire is connected to the rear power window even though it's not connected from where I saw. Power window wouldn't work till I touched it to ground.

Front bumper 1/4 plate support came in. I'll have to find time to weld it on.

I just cut those tabs off of my 87 4R when I installed the rear bumper.

Was the wiring between the seats and under the console? If so, those are rear window and wiper.

I knew about the wipers, rear window, but I don't know what the middle push button is.

That's gotta be it! The random rigged ground wire goes to that and if it's not grounded the rear window doesn't work! Thank you sir!

Wonder how to bypass and eliminate it?

Why do you need to bypass that lock switch? Just don't use the switch.

It's a Series II without the radio. I only bought what it came with. I'm still working on actual mounting. Bought it from 4WD.com for $226.02 shipped.

The switch is missing some parts, I can't see why I would need to use it and bypassing it means one less thing to deal with later.

Thanks! That's a bummer though cause the steelies I wanna put on are 3.5". I'm assuming that would put my tires to close to the inside. I guess I could do spacers.

Yep, your right! I just came to that conclusion. Then that is better than the other way around. Then looks like a go to put OEM FJ steelies on! Now to powder coat them grey.

Any luck mounting the Tuffy console? I would love to see how it looks mounted. Recently had my stereo stolen from my '87 and would like to have it more secure in a Tuffy if possible. Not sure how I would deal with the stock moulding and window/wiper switches though.

Talked to a shop about rebuilding our 22RE. It was a lot higher than I was expecting, around $4,500. Looks like I'm buying a new one online for $1,800 shipped!
