The kids went to Grandma's house and that gave me a couple of hours in the garage. I spent some time searching for ways to mount a Taurus fan, but I could not really find anything. So, after staring at the radiator and fan for a while, this is what I came up with. I cut down a piece of 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" angle, got the basic shape of the fan shroud so the clamp mount would keep the fan from moving up and down. It is secured to the radiator with the stock mounting holes. On the drivers side the fan is held in with 1 bolt right now, but I have plans for a spacer/mount, that will keep the fan away from the radiator and allow for 3 attachment points for the shroud rather than just 1 as it sits right now. Here is my progress for today.

I finally received my adapter from AA. The tranny will be going to the shop this week to get the output shaft swapped out. I will be able to get all my cross members and mounts buttoned up real soon. I changed directions with my t-cases, so the mount I made earlier is no longer needed, Oh well, trial and error!!!

Got my trans back this afternoon, a 1 day turn around!! They installed the new output shaft and resealed the trans. Installing the adapter was really straight forward, grease the oil seal, grease the splines and apply sealant to the adapter and t-case faces. The only issue I had was where Advance Adapter put their logo (see pic#2), the AA, it interferes with installing a bolt for the adapter and a nut from the t-case stud.

The floor needed to be trimmed, so I broke out the plasma and started cutting.

Weld it! ya I know 5 pages late in the conversation.
Good luck with her.

Dom, you obviousely do not know my BC, I would be shipped out to the slow station with a crew full of slugs. As far as work goes, I am waiting for the academies to start back up, thats my cruiser cash :)

I have just about finished the cross member, tomorrow I will have to build my tube bender stand. I have gotten myself to a point where I need the bender. Tomorrow is also my youngest sons birthday, so I may not get to do anything. Oh well!!

very nice tony, I have a T-350 that im thinking the same layout as that, Academy? that sounds like work,

Nice fab

"Academy? that sounds like work"

No, it's not really work, the kids are doing everything, I am there to make sure they do not kill or maim themselves with the tools and equipment.

Thanks guys!!

Progress from yesterday. I got the mount cut and tacked, I used 1 1/2" tube for the cross member, 3"x1 1/2" square tube for the mount pad and 4"x5"x1/4" plate for the frame reenforcement.

This morning I got at it early before the heat set in. Since I changed my transfer case configuration, the mount ran right in front if the front output flange

So this morning I slapped together a bender stand, and bent some tube to go up and around the flange. I had to be finished by noon, today is my sons 6th birthday, so I had a lunch date

It is partially welded in/bolted in and still needs to be trimmed up.

Unfortunately, no progress, I have been working on my sons car "Sully" (in sig line) and life keeps getting in the way lately!!! As soon as I get his car back on the road, I will be back on my project and you can steal any idea you want. If you come up with something better, please let me know:)

Be safe,

Tony
