LOL right there with you. We were thinking more along the lines that we have a couple good kidneys to sell between us :)

That red TR6 next to your Merc does it for me. Man, I miss my little British cars sometimes. Congrats on the new purchase!

That one went for $10.5 Dave. I took a good look at it and it was very clean and ran well. Overall, the British iron does not take high dollars, they are a bargain if you are an enthusiast but not something that will make you money at re sale. It was a different atmosphere yesterday. No general admittance, all buyers and sellers. People were more talkative and there obviously were far fewer people. Bidding was hot. The also built a new building on to the building to the left as you come in the gate. Probably housed 80 vehicles.

There were several Land Cruisers. The black one that that sold yesterday was hideous. It had a small block swap and what looked like 3/4 ton axles sticking out, bad body and paint. It high bid at $14K but did not sell.

That truck is a Proffit build. Not sure if it is the company that bought Proffit out or the new company Proffit started back up a few years back. Auctioneer claimed $50K plus in receipts, I am guessing labor included.

I was there too with TR6, that was and still is my favorite roadster shape/proportions. A buddy of mine had one in high school, and we went everywhere in it. They do come up for sale around here Dave, I have found a few. BUT, and this important, I can tell you they have shrunken over time. I test drove one about 12 years ago and it was a lot tighter than it was in 1980.

Amen Izzy! I checked out a 63 Healy Sprite yesterday. Wow that thing was a whole lot smaller than the Sprites I owned when I was in my early 20s :)

Heather told me to go ahead if I was feeling froggy but no way in hell she was trying to climb in and out of that thing.

I sold my '74 TR6 12 years and 40 lbs ago. It was pretty tight back then and my knees were a lot better. Folding yourself in half to get in and out is the hardest part. Once you get in, there is plenty of legroom. Side-to-side space is super limited though. I could literally roll down the passenger window from the driver's seat while driving down the road.

Lovely....The proportions are so right, and no newer vehicle has those...

Mine was lower than most and had stiffer spings, sway bar, etc. I do miss it and I do love the Triumphs in spite of their being needy little cars. It was always something. There are actually wood parts in the engine, so that should tell you a lot.

I knew a guy I worked at home depot with that had a tr6 or maybe it was a mg, can't quite remember now. Anyway he had swapped a t56 and a grand national motor into one and was working on another with a 3sgte in it.

No idea Al, results can be found here

79 Bronco just hammered at $46K add 8% buyer's premium if there, 10% on thee phone

70s & 80s Broncos and Blazers have been taking large money for a couple years now

Thats awesome. Wood in the motors, like the old series land rovers, using wood to back up oil seals....They stop leaking when empty.

I know a local mechanic who had a couple of wooden chassis Morgans in his shop. He hired a woodworker to pattern & reproduce parts.

@roadstr6 i just helped my alley neighbor drop and mate the engine to the transmission in his 1976 Spitfire 1500 last night. Apparently my tongue was in the right direction and I said the proper string of cuss words under my breath while gently shaking everything around.

Man I barely have enough patience for older Japanese vehicle maintenance, I couldnt imagine working on something from her majesty's kingdom

FYI, those doors I dropped off for him came from a 1978. Can't remember if I had confirmed that yet...found my notes this week.
