Ouch .... looks like the studs are still intact (at least a few of them) - what happened?
all the studs were fine as were the threads. we borrowed a lug or 2 from the remaining wheels put it back together and drove it home carefully. there was not a vibration or indication anything was wrong until the wheel came off. I got to say Garrett and the cruiser were surprisingly stable through the ordeal it wasn't until we were out of traffic and stopped that i got a reaction from Garrett.
How’d that happen?
Lug nuts were torqued. Either they some how loosened up, exploded off, or slim possibility that someone doesn’t like me and took the lug nuts off of the truck. Like my dad said. There was no warning of the wheel coming off it just came off around the curve
you forgot to pay the lugnut fairy..... well she is more of a troll demanding money.... glad no one was hurt....much wear on the rotor?
By the amount of nasty words I got in the phone call from G, maybe..
Rotor was chewed up a little bit but it was a hard hit to the ground, but with the chance of it being fractured and after getting some heat into and it coming apart we just went ahead and got a new rotor.
I was calm as we pulled into a pull off and stop as watching the tire do a buck 50 into a mail box and keep going. I would say my reaction after we stopped was pretty normal for a wheel coming off and going across 4 lanes of traffic and slam that mail box and then it come back in a cop car
@4LowandSlow - dude, I've been driving for well over 25 years and that level of "oh s***" has yet to happen to me. I've had a couple blowouts and small wrecks (1 crappy driver and 1 where my unwillingness to hit a dog cost me). I'd say if you didn't soil yourself at your age and experience level, you should consider it a victory

Ya see, what we have here is one of them cross breeds, Part Landcruiser, part Jeep, can’t be trusted.
@weejub do you still have that arb bumper for sale? Slee said they won't have one for three months and shipping would be 225. I'm also looking at Bump It Offroad but I think I like the ARB better

Did you look at 4x4 Labs? It is a super high clearance very nice bumper. I would have got one but it was out of my price range.
I believe @stevezero has claimed it. Not sure if the sale has finalized yet.

Yeah man. It’s not that it scared me I was just mad my wheel came off out of no where with no indication or anything. It’s just crazy how things happen.
