Oil explosion in engine compartment...What the H&@¥!

None of this makes sense...I'd absolutely question that mechanic and please post pics if you can.

That's just an example pic, not the vehicle in question. Obviously the engine pictured is not in running condition! I suspect they have the head off and dropped the chain.

Yeah this is just an example. I pulled the cam out and sold some valve shims. The engine suffered loss of oil pressure.
