Friends Dad's 4Runner for sale

Why this one is special:
-Environment & usage – Alameda, CA is perfect climate, no salty winters, no summer heat, never towed anything heavy, never off roaded. Truck is now in North Raleigh.
-Obsessive car guys pampered it – my parent’s neighbor purchased new, then sold it to my dad a few years ago, we’ve known this truck since new, all maintenance documented @ Toyota dealer using synthetic oil.
-Records & receipts since new.
-Several mechanical investments made over past few months – premium tires, bulbs/fuses, full brake job, water pump, coolant flush, drive & timing belts.
-No aftermarket modifications, all OEM factory equipment.

What needs attention:
-Cosmetics – alloy wheels’ clearcoat is peeling (reconditioning is ~$150 per wheel); less than normal wear on plastics & cloth; carpets due for thorough shampoo.

Saw today at Cooper Storage on National Highway in Thomasville. Costa Rica import, told me it went to Canada first, came through someone in Miami, diesel, claims to be MB, cranks easy, power steering from a FJ60, poorly done, A/C works, rear sill is gone, side quarters appear to be tacked over the rusted out originals and there is a ton of bondo on the roof gutter. Rust in the usual places although well covered over. Asking $23.5k.

Told me the reason for the rubber bumpers was so they could be parked nose to tail on the ship and not touch. Thought that was an "interesting" story.

Anyone have a Weber airfilter assembly for sale/trade? Chrome not chrome doesn’t much matter to me.

Swapped new carb on and low and behold the adapter to the stock air filter assembly has a 1/2” gap. Just going to convert to the rectangle.

Put a Weber 38 on. Took a month or so bc of how many emissions components were broken and needed to be capped/replaced. Will text you about the air cleaner /carb plate.
