Hey Wednesday Yankee Boy/ Governor Basis drivers. I'm leading that run and would like to see who doesn't have ham radio as I prefer ham for trail comms. Please PM me if you don't have ham and if you do, let me know if you have a spare. I have a spare hand held and hope some of you do as well to cover the folks who may not have ham. Not too late to amazon a Baofang for listening purposes....

Edit: to clarify, I am not suggesting or condoning illegal transmission on ham frequencies by anyone w/o a license. What I would like on the trails I lead is for all to be able to be able to hear me and the gunner on Ham. If we end up with most people only with GMRS, I’ll go ahead and get the license for that and buy a pair of hand helds. KC4TLC

@indycole, is there a way to message drivers in Sched? Some of the drivers may not be active on Mud.

I’m in your group and begrudgingly will have a ham radio that @Trukk helps me setup. Otherwise it’s GMRS for me.

Good morning. I will be driving from Upstate (Syracuse) NY starting Wednesday the 24th with a goal of picking up my 2 Kids Friday night at Denver airport. Driving down through Columbus, OH and then out 70. Any one from the east coast or along that route is welcome to caravan with me. LMK.
I'll be pulling out of Central NJ the 24th, with the intent of picking up wife and kids in Denver Sat morning. Planned on 70 as well, Columbus and probably Kansas city. I'll keep ya posted.

If we end up with majority GMRS, then that’s what we will do. I’ll get a license and a pair of radios. That’s why I’m trying to get this sorted before LCDC.

Sounds good. Just keep the mud out of your radiator before heading west.

I know a place in Columbus/ Dublin , Oh that’s a good hold over. For Wednesday. Or we push through to Indy….

I'm heading out of Vegas on Saturday morning if any SoCal folks are passing through this way en route and the timing works out to caravan.

Also up for pregame trails on Sunday if anyone is in town early.

There’s a function for the trail leader to message attendees. Go into your session and and click the “view / manage your session” link to get the options.

Looks like Nate gave you the answer. Just let me know if that doesn’t work for you. Some people have private profiles on Sched. Not sure if that affects direct comms though.

Super. On a side note, just got my new vanity call sign: W4PEC. Stoked because now I get to say "Wiskey 4 Papa, Echo Charlie" on the radio.

Greetings all. I am terribly disappointed to say that I will not be able to make it to Ouray. I have received some unfortunate news about my truck and it will not be remedied in time for the event.

@psnyman has graciously agreed to lead my Clear Lake/Ophir Pass run.

I will post more details soon.

A quick Travel Bulletin for any of y'all coming from the East that plan to drive Rt 50 west towards Montrose to get down to Ouray:

The Blue Mesa bridge between Gunny and Montrose is closed now most of the day, making east/west travel between Gunny and Montrose not possible. Basic Info here: US 50 Emergency Bridge Improvements — Colorado Department of Transportation - https://www.codot.gov/projects/us50bluemesa

Currently it is open one lane, alternating traffic from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. and 4:30. to 6:30 p.m. NOTE: no trucks pulling trailers allowed over the bridge.

Here is the Pilot Car schedule (all days except Wed, for some reason) and closure map:

Here is bypass info if you miss the open times: Local Access Information — Colorado Department of Transportation - https://www.codot.gov/projects/us50bluemesa/access
Basically you either head up to Crested Butte, and take Kebler Pass over to Delta, or you can take the Lake City bypass over to Sapinero and then on to Montrose. Kebler is longer, but the lake city route is pretty rutted up from my understanding.

See y'all in a couple of weeks!

What’s up with your rig?

I am just going to take I-70 to Grand Junction and go south

That is unfortunate news. Dang it... I hope you get it sorted.

Head gasket. I'll post all the deets once I get through triage.
Dang. I can relate. What’s your #2 rig? I did LCDC last year in a stock Taco after messing my 200 up in the spring. Come on out, you can ride shotgun with someone. I’m solo on the trails so my seat is open.

I have an open seat as well.
