Any word on when the Frequencies are going to be published? I want to program my radios ahead of time. Manually doing the baofengs is gonna eat into my socializing and beer time @ Ouray!

Y'all should now be able to find the assigned 2m and FRS/GMRS frequencies and channels in Sched. The frequencies usually don't change but they certainly can. The leaders can also call an audible on the day-of if there's a lot of activity on that particular channel. The chosen frequencies consider the general CO band plan as well as what we've found in past events that have already been in use as local repeaters, etc.

Here are the frequencies we'll use:

146.530 / 1
146.550 / 2
146.570 / 3
146.580 / 4
146.590 / 5
147.420 / 15
147.450 / 16
147.480 / 17
147.510 / 18
147.540 / 19

I was just in the Silverton/Telluride area camping. Tons of great sites available close to molas pass, and I'd bet up porphyry gulch. In fact I barely saw anyone else camping, though I was only looking at dispersed sites. SIlverton Hardware guy says other than 4th of July it has been a really slow summer.

Monsoon season has hit so they're getting daily rain, which means things are nice and green, and no real fire risk.

Technically not LCDC media.. but in all likelihood the site might be available to someone from the event.

If anyone needs some info on dispersed camping let me know. PM works or I can answer questions here.

That looks fancier than my KOA. Stuff I need to learn going forward.

Actually +3, wife and 2 of my little boys. They'll be into Denver sat, and we'll make our way to ouray
Sweet! Look forward to meeting the fam. Safe travels and see ya Monday.

After seeing more frequent CELs and smells of gas this summer at elevation here in Utah (I hear this is a common occurrence for many, unfortunately 🤦‍♂️), I have finally ordered an OBDII reader to connect with my phone on the trails. The last thing I need is a CEL in 4LO while on the trail. This will be my first time using such a tool, so any advice or tips are appreciated. I went with the Veepeak BLE and the OBD Fusion app.

It won’t take you OUT of 4Lo. It will just prevent you feom switching into 4 lo until you clear codes. Once you clea codes, all will be fine. You can even clear codes while driving (though you do NOT want that distraction on Ouray trails!!!).

In other words… This issue (should it pop up) will NOT change the mode you’re in while driving.

* I highly recommend that ALL DRIVERS keep an OBD2 code reader capable of RESET in your 200 at all times. $20-30 at Harbor freight or Amazon, or any auto parts store. It is ESSENTIAL GEAR IMHO when off-road.

PS. unfortunately, there are some error codes that cannot be cleared… Such as wheel speed sensors, and some others. The insidious part is that even these can prevent shifting into four low.… Which is rather odd, since your shift in to for low or 4 high while stopped **with zero wheel speed**
… Lol. Toyota is a solid as they come… But even Toyota does a few things that, like Forrest Gump would say, “just don’t make no sense!” :)
—The boiling gas thing usually involves an evap sensor (or sensors) code(s)… and thankfully, these do immediately clear.

Thanks. Your posts from last year really helped me make the decision to do this, so I thank you for that! I know it won't switch the mode I am in when I get a CEL, but I definitely don't want to be stuck in 4LO after the trail so I can't switch back out to drive back to Ouray. I should get everything set up today or tomorrow, so I will do a quick update when I get it up and running.
