I think the most impressive(?) thing was the Poughkeepsie Gulch year, not only did @laserturbo91 pull the broken shock at lunch on the trail. He completed the rest of the trail through Hurricane Pass and Corkscrew Gulch with no driver rear shock. Just wheeling on a spring like a bad mofo. If memory serves, he couldn’t track down a replacement and ended up getting a stock one in Tucson(!) for the ride back to the east coast.

Legendary status.
It was okay but once it got floaty, it oscillated quick. Last year when I had the rear trailing arm fail, that was even worse. It was so bad that when I had to apply the brakes to calm down the oscillation from that, it was shifting me into oncoming traffic 👎. That was a fun 120 miles back to Slee

BB skids getting covered in rustoleum’s satin clear enamel. Have all their skids and getting set to install this weekend or next. Not pictured are the front and gas tank skids.
I have their stainless steel full step up minus fuel tank and love them. Few good dents in them which make me super happy to have them.
lets keep this on track to the event. Feel free to start another thread

That means if still closed most will take I-70 to Grand Junction and then down to Delta then to Montrose. There are other paths from the south of Colorado I believe

If I weren't towing a trailer, I'd probably just cut down to Lake City and over Cinnamon Pass to Ouray. I'm coming from the Springs so this is kind of a hassle. Guess I can't complain for the folks coming from further away.

I was thinking of going to Lake City on Saturday the 27th on my way to Ouray depending on if I can get out of KC early enough Friday and take either Engineer or Cinnamon to Ouray. I'd prefer Cinnamon as I've not done that one before. I'd also need to talk my wife into it too. Anyone else interested in this on Saturday the 27th?

I am coming from near DC, but targeting similar dates/timeframe, so that could work for me as well. When are you anticipating leaving KC?

Currently, we were planning on leaving about 4:00 PM and was planning on just getting 5 so hours toward Ouray. Lake City is 13 hours from KC so I'd really need to roll out Friday morning or at least by noon so we could get to Lake City for lunch and take one of the trails to Ouray. Still trying to work it all out.

Sounds good, please keep me posted and we’ll see if it can work out. Would be awesome to roll out that way and hit some trails otw to Ouray.

If you like streams, the fishing in Lime Creek on your way up 550 is great, and gorgeous.

I'd love to make the timing on this work, but I just don't think I can....the wife and boys land in Denver at noon on the 27th so I don't see myself to Lake City in a reasonable time. Could be something I follow though on Sunday though.

If you take this route, take the left fork into American Basin on your way in via Cinnamon Pass. It’s about a half hour diversion, plus any hiking around there you might want to do. It was really pretty last year in July and well worth the stop

As @BIC JET said, we will be in late on the 28th. Already thinking about a half day of trails on the 29th before the welcome event in the afternoon/evening if anyone is game. I figured wait and see what will be offered at trail signup and then fill in with some of the voids that got passed over.

we'll end up pulling in on the 28th as well, may be up for some running around 29th AM as well depending how it all comes together.
