It’s a 62 so need to source the bellhousing, flywheel, trans crossmember, driveshafts, etcI had a set of parts recently to convert an FJ62 to stick shift but they've been sold. My prices are so low parts don't stay here very long. If yo0u have a 60 changing over to an H55 isn't that difficult but in a 62 it's much more involved.
I sold my entire setup for $400- bellhousing, bottom cover, slave cylinder and associated parts, flywheel, crossmember, driveshafts, pedal bucket, transmission cover with both boots. I've sold quite a few of these setups but they're getting hard to come by.It’s a 62 so need to source the bellhousing, flywheel, trans crossmember, driveshafts, etc
I knew I should have jumped on it.I sold my entire setup for $400- bellhousing, bottom cover, slave cylinder and associated parts, flywheel, crossmember, driveshafts, pedal bucket, transmission cover with both boots. I've sold quite a few of these setups but they're getting hard to come by.
Bellhousing, flywheel, trans cover and boots, and pedal assembly can come from any year FJ60. You can use your existing driveshafts as the H55/FJ62 transfer case combination is the same length as the original auto trans/transfer case assembly. You can use your existing transfer case, too although in stock form it uses the vacuum method for shifting from 2WD/4WD. You can convert that function to manual shift fairly easily by drilling and tapping the nose cone for a ball detent/spring cap assembly, the location is already dimpled from the factory. Hardest part to find is a transfer case shifter assembly, might be easier to just go with a twin stick setup. I would also highly recommend buying a new input gear for the transfer case, if at all possible get one with the longer length to maximize the amount of spline engagement. Lastly, I am unsure about crossmember compatibility between the years.I knew I should have jumped on it.
do all those parts need to be 85+ or just the bellhousing, crossmember and driveshafts? Haven’t found a definitive answer yet
Awesome, shoot me a PM and let me know. I’ve got a few feelers out of you really don’t want to part with the stuff. What year is it?@NearJetties I have a parts 60 we can probably work something out.
