I probably should of pumped the tyres up to road pressure instead of wheeling pressure first, but what the hell.....

flat 37s flattened its ears a bit, normally goes to 225 kph, but only got 185 today [115 mph aprox]

Is it just me or is there no more "classic looking" rims on the market ??
This was all I could get to fit my 80 and run my 37" BFG MUDs.

These would be killer on an 80.

A customers 80 we did 35s on the Icon Alloy Alphas which looks pretty good. His FTE converted 80 also has slinky stage 5 icon suspension kit with bypasses all round.

37"s look so normal on a 80... to me they are the 1st size tire that looks like it fits. 37s are a big tire but a 80 series big fenders just make the tire look small.

Lift is 4"... 3" Slinky plus 1" body.

How would you compare the slinky's to other springs you have run pertaining to both, on and off road? Wheel back spacing and bump stop drops? Not a fan of body lifts but I have some spacers on the shelf that i could use for that extra inch. These slinky springs interest me but is the set up worth the money when I get down the trail on what I already have? I'm looking for your opinion as well as facts. Thanks Gary

Hey Steve.
Well, I'm no longer afraid of 6" pot holes... My family constantly tells me to slow down. I find myself driving faster, going into turns harder etc... offroad is same I'm driving faster. I do agree i do need to slow down... but it just so much fun to go faster. Going strait down the road is plush, this attribute is to the dual rate coils in general, plush yet firm. My OME 862s were the same way. There is several manufacturers offering dual rate coils nowdays Icon, TuffDog, Old Man Emu & Redline Slinky. I have the Slinky.
GW Nugget's Family Haulin Lx450 build....

37x12.5x17 Toyo R/Ts. On KMC wheels with 4.25" backspacing. Icon stage 1 lift. Hoping to get over to a shop with a fork lift to flex things out to see where I need to trim fenders before I rhino line where the flares used to be, and see where bumpstops need to be extended.

4.88s in the diffs put the speedo pretty much dead on. Have 3:1 gears for the t-case...thinking those definitely need to go in soon.

@4rings5cyls how necessary is metal messaging going to be with those toyos? I'm considering them myself but they seem bigger than most 37s.

What wheel back spacing & bump stop spacing are you running front & rear?

30mm rear bump spacer and same in the front, using 4.5 bs 17 x 8.5s but 4" bs would be better.

They rub, but if your tyres dont rub it means you can fit bigger ones.

O also have moved the front diff forward 1.5" and fitted 1/2" longer lower rear arms to centre the wheel a little better in the arches, and I trimmed the Slee bar when I modded it to fit the highmount for 37" clearance on the wings.

I ran Nitto 37s til I wore them out. Very similar profile to Toyota. I had to flatten hump at trailing edge of rear fenders. Have minimum rub at top of rear grandest:just right :no damage or paint remaining so that means they fit perfectly!

About 2/3 or 3/4 of full flex/stuff checking clearances. I might be able to remove 1" bumpstop from front and rear compared to what I was running with the 39.5" Iroks pre fender trimming. This is after the fender trimming with 42s
