I had been also debating on whether or not to add some helper airbags to the rear for towing. After towing this setup and seeing how much she squats, i'll definitely getting them. (run them empty, except when towing/hauling)

Man, it really looks good in the woods.

Your little buddy looks like he's saying, " Check out this six pack " Those are some great memories!

strengthen up the rear crossmember if you're going to tow. i pulled a pop up to moab (helper springs would've helped me a lot, but it might've been my lift springs) and the rear frame crossmember was twisting. i've also watched pigheads to the same thing under the weight of his spare tire carrier. it's a weak link.

Here's an example of what I did, just for that reason.

Thanks for the heads up guys, im thinking the next step in my setup is going to be a disk brake conversion for the rear and starting to fix the quarter rust. In the process of fixing the quarter rust i can do some bracing like that fairly easy im thinking.

Thank god for making profits off of jeeps with blown engines!

Hijack alert! Sorry, but I have been thinking about rear bumpers and receiver hitches quite a bit lately as we found a little pop-up.
Where did you have your receiver Ige?
Under the crossmember? Or through the middle?
I am hesitant to go through the cross-member as it will weaken, but if I go under, then I lose clearance on an already low (stock height) Pig...

answered in the other thread too, but here's a shot of my receiver. just a standard bolt on job. the pop up i towed wasn't huge or heavy, under 2k, but it sucked on the passes. 2low. i ran a trailer brake to help out there. i wouldn't do it except for an event like cruise moab where you are stationed somewhere for a week....and even then, i'd think twice. and i have a strong running motor. heck, the frame twisted just pulling treeroots empty car trailer.

Shiny parts!

I got to anxious and didnt take a picture of the 2ftx3ftx3ft box that most of this stuff came in (plus it being about 50-60 lbs it seems) The box the rockers came in was about 6ft tall and weighed 63lbs....jesus!

First opening of the small boxes

quarters out of the box

"and you'll be going here."

LOVE the stainless sill plates (got front and back)

Everything all together.

The thing i was most surprised by was the weight of these rockers. Was originally thinking of doing some 4x4 tubing and making rock rails. Hell these will be almost as strong and look 100% factory. Super awesome!

Well, sheet metal for weeks....literally, because once i get started its going to take me WEEKS to get all this stuff in. Cant wait!

Would like to give a HUGE thanks to Bobm for doing this stuff for the community and for a very fair price.

I'll be doing more pictures in the process, so stay tuned! (gonna be a little bit though)

Thanks Sawtooth, will hopefully be MUCH sweeter when i get the panels in and get a new paint job!

Little update, slowly been collecting parts. Got a new Windshield molding for when the new paint happens (still needing to get the cargo weatherstrip and tailgate opening stuff) Got a the Midgainc tailgate gear for the rear regulator overhaul, along with a factory junction block. Also ordered some new headlight housing from VisionX along with HID's from Redline that should be here anyday.

Friday my interior panels came in from Steve over at SMS headliners. Super nice quality, kinda disappointing they wont go on for anther year or so :(

Then today my 4crawler body mounts came in! Not going to lie, was super excited and super bummed at the same time (pictures to follow) The whole time i was thinking they were custom made pieces by them. But truth is they are actually produced by energy suspensions (which is good quality stuff) which makes me happy. Thing that makes me frustrated is the amount i paid for something that (with some knowledge) could have been much cheaper. Live an ya learn

So my body mount deal. If this is wrong of me to post, ill take it down. Otherwise enjoy the free information.

Horray new body mounts and stainless hardware!

Whats this? Instruction manual for energy suspension bushings? Interesting!

Bushings how they look assembled. There is 8 of the big bushing and 2 of the small.

Big bushing disassembled

Little bushing disassembled

If you do your own research you can find this bushing set i received for A LOT less, which is frustrating.

All for which can be had with some quick searching for a 1/3 of the price. Ouch.

Enjoy!

Strange, he must have switched suppliers. Mine are different than those. I'm sure they will work, but I had to massage them a little. On my 71 the mount hole were different, so had to trim to fit.

Edit: If I remember right, Roger used Daystar body mounts.

So 1st gen 4Runner mounts will do the trick for our Pigs?

I'll stay tuned!

Headlamps!

And if all goes right i'll be installing them tonight (in stages to show the differences)

Npulver,

I have to ask, do you know how your pictures turned out big. Seems everybody's are small. Something I can do to enlarge mine, without clicking on the picture.

I'm looking forward to your impression of the leds. Getting a lot done!

Ron, are you saying my pictures are too big, or you wish yours were bigger (on everyone elses post?)

Alright! Got it all done. Hope this isnt too many pictures as i took a bunch of the installation and results!

Stock Sylvania "Performance" light

Out on the street pointing into a field. dims

brights :
apparently the brights lift to high and dont reach the trailer in the field. The trailer was seen better with the naked eye, pictures dont really do it justice IMO. but you'll see the end difference. (that little shimmer is the a reflecting T-post, sad)

old bulbs coming out!

housings getting ready for the HID bulb (rubber cap removed)

HID installed

As you can see here the factory weather seal. It doesnt fit around the HID, these housing are originally designed for a standard H4 bulb. I trimmed mine so it would at least somewhat protect it, hence the chunk on the left is what i took out of the center.
