Thanks all for the help and offer on the parts, really appreciate the support!! PM sent ABQCRUISER!! Much appreciated guys!!

Rec'd the gear today! Thank you again very much! Excited to dive into the rear window saga experienced by so many b4 me!:popcorn::popcorn:

I’d like to see some pics of this threads turning wheels!!! Let’s see that engine bay!!! C’mon, guy. We’re all grown up men, here... let’s see em!!!

Ask and you shall receive! I'll be under the pig tonight trying to figure out a 45-50MPH death wobble I experienced while on a test drive the other night.....pics to come later tonight! I know the sty loves pics!

Don’t discount crappy tires or interior tire deterioration as a contributor to that wobble. Also; check your caster

If you can post pics of the fan to radiator clearance, the PS setup, and the fuel delivery components, I’d appreciate it! Thanks!

Fan to radiator is 3/4's of an inch. No shroud which I need to add as well as figure out why temp gauge doesn't work. Looks like the stock FJ55 radiator. Power steering setup is FJ62 everything including steering column and controls w a FJ55 steering wheel. Just to be clear this FJ is a 1989 FJ62 undercarriage and running gear w a 1972 FJ55 body sitting on top of it. Here are some various pics. If you want so.ething different just ask. I do need to mount brake lines to firewall, heater thing to firewall as well as fuel filter setup somewhere too.

Thanks, these tires are well used and have a feeling one has a broken belt. All TRE are tight as are wheel bearings. Anybody see anything wrong w the steering setup or angles? It has a 3" lift.

Another interesting discovery tonight on my rig....I co.e home from work and send the wife out to the garage to get me a beer, lol, yeah right, so I go get a beer and I open garage door and big time gas fumes. I look at pig and gas is leaking out of the gas cap and by fuel door. It only has about 5 gallons of gas in it and I drove it Monday night for a bit. Anybody have an idea as to what my problem is considering its a fj55 body on a fj62 chassis?

So one just posted up about the evap system, looks like your going to learn about it too...

Pull these shackles and inspect the bushings.

Long shackles have less mechanical advantage and are more prone to death wobble when the bushing start getting worn, just a hunch but I’m betting you need more caster too with these longer shackles if the PO didn’t do a cut and turn.

Or just have someone turn the steering wheel from side to side and you watch your shackles for excessive movement.

Bomber!!! Thank you!!! Can you also post a pic of the radiator mounting? Like a downward shot? I wanna are if you’re radiator was pushed forward vs stock placement in order to clear fan clutch fan. Thanks!!!

Does your fan even have a clutch?

Upper and lower core support and radiator all look in stock location. Mounting bolts for radiator measure 24 1/4" center of bolt to center of bolt.
Glad to help, lord knows all you guys have helped me a ton. Feels good to help somebody else! If you need any other pics let me know.

So on this fuel cap, pressurization issue.....this is my setup. Stock fj62 tank, filler neck and fuel door is stock '72 FJ55 along with the fuel cap. My old fuel cap has no venting like the newer fj62's have so I am guessing after I put 5 gallons in it the other day and put the old fuel cap on the fuel sloshing around pressurized the tank. I pulled it in garage and walked away so that air pushed the fuel up the filler neck to the cap and it leaked. As soon as I removed the fuel cap the level started to receed down the filler tube. So for now I drilled a couple holes in my fuel cap (I know, not cool) but I have a parts rig 4runner that I am going to see if I can adapt that filler neck and new style, vented fuel cap and see what happens. I could be way off base here as I've never dealt with this evap stuff much. I am going to checkout that other thread too that was posted a few days ago and see what I can learn. Thanks all

So after reading some I'm not sure the PO switched over the fj62 evap system at all. I don't see it under the rig or in the engine bay. Seems I am way off in my thinking and its going to be more complicated then I thought. I do have a FSM for the 62 so going to dig into that and learn.
