Ah ha, just needed to clean all the crap out of the floor boards. Lastly, would like to meet Tom some day and get his story on this 40. Found his name badge under the carpet.
Have not Mark. Will look that one up.Ha! Have you read my story "The Ghost in the Machine "?
If you're referring to the 76 needing an upper part I have picked up a top and barn doors off a 77 model. I'll be good there except I need to source a period correct windshield frame. The later top does not match up with the earlier windshield frame. Let me know if I'm missing the mark. Thanks. JimHas this taken care of you needing the upper part of the doors?
Man Don I thought it was "California Dreaming"Livin the dream Texas!
Rayjon, I will use some 60 parts to upgrade the 74 to disk, but other than that and power steering I'll go mostly stock. I'm not an expert on body work, but do enjoy the challenge. I've used heat and hammers but need to learn about the shrinking disk. Not sure I've seen that before. Thanks for the post. JimNice project, on the white one you could always cut up a donor fj60 for the axles and little parts, unless you were trying to go all stock,
on the sheet metal we use our local powder coat guy for sand blasting, saves alot of time and you get nice clean stuff back to deal with. I have fixed several hoods and fenders with a torch, body hammers and a shrinking disk, the aftermarket fenders are almost as much work as fixing the stock ones.
welcome to the addiction...
