Broke my right rear last week. Got them from Slee in the package set up. Trying to get a replacement through warranty. So far, no movement yet. We'll see...

Ask and you shall receive. After no more than 1 hour after posting the above pics, I was contacted and told the warranty is going to cover my broken shock. Looks like Slee took care of business. And Bilstien too.

I have the B8 5160's. I enjoy them on my "heavy" truck. I guess that's what I am. They looks cool, handle washboard and sand/beach dunes pretty well. On road manners could handle the small bumps better (I'm on 863's) but the big dips are handled with a one or two bounce finish. I can't complain for the money...

The 5160's are too stiff on the top end for low speed off-road trails. The same way on potholes and broken pavement. Cold weather seems to make them stiffer too.
They are great on smooth pavement but I could've had that and more with new OEM shocks.
I'll probably switch out the fronts later on.
Yeah, that's what a digressive shock is going to be like. I feel your pain though, I really do not want a digressive shock either.

I’ve had mine since May, and I love them. I have them combined with ARB torsion bars, 864 springs, aftermarket bump stops, and TT extended links. It seems to be the perfect recipe for me. I was never expecting a stock Lexus ride, and have been impressed with their ability to eat bumps, especially at speed. I rode some trails at GSMTR that I had NO business being on, and they performed flawlessly. The rebound was greatly diminished on large obstacles, and I didn’t experience any fading. If you are looking for a buttery smooth ride from a lifted/modified vehicle, look elsewhere. For the price, I’m super satisfied.

I am thinking about these 5160s, and rather than open a new thread, I thought I'd ask here, for those who are running them on heavier than stock vehicles, do you still feel that they are a good value or are there better shocks out there?

For reference, I have front and rear bumpers, skids, sliders, winch etc and have OME 864 rear springs and OME torsion bars. I have OME shocks on all 4 corners now and they were never what I would call compliant, but after 70k miles or so are now uncomfortable and annoy me whenever I'm driving.
I had 5100s on my 4th gen 4Runner and liked them a lot, hence my consideration of these, but I have no real loyalty, I just want something comfortable that isn't 8 million dollars.

Bringing this thread back up. How do peeps like the 5160s? My '99 doesn't have front or rear bumpers (i.e. no static load). How do you think they'd perform without that weight as a DD?
