Gathering dust, but will begin again

After completely falling off the face of the earth this summer, I'm getting antsy wanting to get the 40 going again. I have what I need to get the axles re-built, painted, and tucked back up underneath the frame. From there it'll be some tedious rebuilding of brake and fuel lines. Anyone have a particular knack for that?

yes.. I purchased an SST to do the correct flare "correctly"
Professional Brake Tubing Flaring Tool - Brake Flaring Tool - Brake Tube Flaring
Spool of brake line from online retailer, old metric fittings, bend and flare. No i'm not there yet on my build and yes you can borrow it when i'm ready to hand it over. you have a ways to go before you need it and i'm not going to finish brake lines till i button up the engine and a few other things.
I'll post up pics of the progress and how it works when i get there.. Lets just say it's SLICK compared to the old double flare thing with the little dies.
I can also provide the PN's for the brake line when your ready. I ran all new brake line and fuel line. Started with Fuel.. since I have no clutch in my ride yet really no reason to have working brakes just yet.

Sooo.. Chris has possibly come out of hiding and will be making an appearance by my office next week to retreive a tool. Perhaps we will get an updated progress picture?

Teaser pic coming your way. Painting parts and building the front axle back up. Decided the rotors and brake calipers needed replaced so about as far as I can go on those. Next up will be rear axle. Still not committed to rear disc brakes yet...

Started building the front axle up. It has been a few years since doing a front axle rebuild so I spent a chunk of my time making sure the torque values were right. It also seems that about the time I think I'm read to put something back together I decide there is another part to clean up and paint...

Continued work on the frame and axles yesterday. Added Rancho 60612 add a leaf's to the rear springs. Planning to do the same with the fronts as well but I've run into a little hickup. See pic #2 which shows the interference between the spring wrap on the original leaf with the add a leaf. Suggestions?

Rolled the rear axle back underneath. Moved on to the engine and stripped everything off but the head, which is next. Surprisingly, the oil pan seal came off easily so I'm guessing it has been replaced at one time.

Looking great man!! Whole lot of fun going on there...

Continued working on the power steering today. Saw a post from Mark Whatley where he suggested using a 3/4" thick spacer and mounting the box and shock mount to it. I had time today to cut out a chunk of 3/4" plate and start messing around with location of the box. Once I have everything in place I'm planning to drill and tap the 3/4" plate so that installation of the pump will be easy.
