Two weeks and no update? Or pics?
Thank you for delivering stuff to Shane

A little progress to report this evening. Erik's talked me into adding FJ60 power steering, so this evening the stock gearing box pedestal and front shock towers were taken off. No painting on the frame yet, but one of the heat shields is now black. woohoo...

Good to see progress even if you threw me under the bus. Kidding. Ill have a box for u at the meeting. Will see if I can get some paint on it prior to delivery.

I agree with your assessment of his power of persuasion. I have mini- truck brakes with power booster adapters due to him! And I do mean THANKS to him.

Keep up the progress. Some time tell us about your paint booth in regard to those tubes on the side. Did you make up some sort of downdraft booth?

Finally some progress to report. Painted the frame and a whole mess of parts with Eastwood Chassis Black paint. Paint worked great as it comes pre-thinned and ready to spray. Used my el cheapo HVLP gun from Harbor Freight. Next up will be to strip the axles down, paint them and the springs, and start rebuilding the chassis.

Chris i wil have sst avail soon for axle rebuild.

update? or you sitting in a recliner taking aleve pain pills old man? get those shackles measured or holler at me monday evening. i found a box with more shackles just havent' dug it out so i might have a complete set of greasable shackles and need to know bushing size needed i found few sets and i think Jobe purchased a wrong set the other day as well so between the two of us we might have what you need.

Brutal. I was able to get in a few hours of work Saturday. The frame repairs are bolted back into place. Started tearing down the axles in anticipation of rebuilding the knuckles and brakes prior to painting. Dug through my pile of bones and found a couple of potential replacement springs for the rear which has a broken leaf in it.

I have Downey aftermarket shackles. Bolts are 5/8" diameter.

Looking for the following:

8 shackle bolts
(16) bushings - stock OD x 5/8" ID
(4) spring pins
8 bushings - stock OD & ID

Also, if anyone has extra stock dust covers for the transfer shifter and transmission top I will buy those as well.

Chris goto the sor site give us the od and shoulder width of what u need. Different years had different od and shackles will have set width for shoulder. It takes some noodling with the noggin but will make our life easier with a caliper

I will be pulling these and should have another set in a box. I have a set of ome anti inversion in the garage to install and want to drop the front a touch to help caster. I measured the greasable pins on the front they are 5/8 so i know i have one set. Need to open the box labeled shackles in the parts storage room and see what else i have. Also need those measurements to figure out what might fit for u.

Your bushings are here but waiting on machine work for my replacement pins apparently hardened steel does not machine well.

Any updates????

I've been focused this spring on training for two endurance bike rides so the work on the 40 has fallen by the wayside. Planning to get the axles re-built, painted, and back under the frame. Then it'll be onto the engine/transmission/transfer - new gaskets and seals, a few new bearings, and a paint job. Also planning to get the power steering pump installed.
