wow, looking great. I found the best way to get the front clip alighned, was to loosen the tub and move it around, to get the hood lined up. Sounds crazy, but worked for me. The gap on the apron skirts, and the hood gap was my guide to perfection. Yes, the rear bumper may not line up perfect, but you have to pick your evil.

Tintable Raptor, same as on the inside of my FJ40 you saw this weekend.

Made some progress in the last few days. Wiring harness is back in, as are dash knobs. Heater and ducting are back in as well. Had to do some trimming on the left sortafit fender to get the turn signal to fit properly. Seats are in. Working on the cooling system plumbing now.

Got to ask what the Flux capacitor looking deal is in back is ? I know I'm not up on the 40 series but that just looks put of place.

It's looking very nice

I believe you are referring to the rear heater. It allows you to heat the rear of the vehicle.

I slept in a snowstorm on my rear heater in my 40 once. It will keep u warm

Finished installed new cooling system hoses throughout. The previous owner had purchased not 1, not 2, but 3 complete sets of OEM radiator hoses. Trying to figure out a couple of electrical wiring issues, like why does the harness have a single wire connection for the rear heater, which is grounded through the chassis, but the connection on the rear heater motor is 2-wire. Hmmm. Lot's of little things on my by-system lists so the goal right now is to just get things checked off.

It is amazing to me how long every step takes to put one of these together. I have been installing the heater in ol' blue, and every step seems simple, then hits a snag and then back to the pictures and books to figure it out!

Keep the pictures coming! They are awesome. You are getting close!

Spent some time last night on the throttle assembly. Broke a bolt off in the firewall, but thankfully I purchased a set of left-handed drill bits from Harbor-Freight. I was able to get the bolt out without too much damage to the threads. Right now I'm working with the spare motor that I picked up in Springfield. Check out the return spring on the throttle. First time I pushed the accelerator I thought WTH? Found an OEM spring and the pedal action is much better.

Next up was brakes. Painted up the calipers and installed everything last night. I had already run new lines starting at the junction on the passenger side frame. Started filling and immediately found a couple of connections I had hand tightened but not fully. Doh! I think I bled everything but am not sure I have the master cylinder set up properly for rear disks. The brake pedal will go about 1/2 way to the floor and then stops like I'm bottoming out. There is also minimum fluid movement from the front reservoir. Thoughts?

Also with the rear disks the bolt for the banjo fitting seems about 1/8" to 3/16" too short in conjunction with the soft line it is connecting. Anyone else encounter this?

Saturday is full with family events, but planning to focus on steering and odds and ends. I'm procrastinating on getting the fuel system and circuits back in. I believe this is mainly due to not knowing exactly how the hard lines run since I've never seen them in place...

On my master there is a bolt/pin in the side that as i recall if put in incorrectly will restrain the front half of the piston. If not crack open the lines at the master and see the piston will fully travel.

No troubleshooting on the brakes today, but did get the fuel system plumbed. I'm finding the parts rig to be beneficial for little clips and pieces that have disappeared over the course of this build. This is a small clip that the fuel filter bolts to.

Continued messing around and got the front bezel installed. I found a shop in Wichita that handles cad plating (and chrome when the are slow). Had the headlight rings plated. Need to get the rings re-chromed, but that'll be down the road as they aren't too bad right now.

Is my bezel right?

NICE! How much was the cad plating?
