Found some time to strip the paint off the dash today.

Day I brought it home vs yesterday. Still a long way to go.

Noice! I've started doing the same thing on mine.
Quick question- how have you been able to take off the white without taking off the blue? The purple scotch Brite pad and paint thinner combo went pretty quickly through to the red primer and then the metal in one place I tried.

I’ve been using acetone and/or lacquer thinner. Every once in awhile it will go all the way through but I think those were weak spots from a previous job.

Dash back together, been on a couple drives through the ‘hood since.

Small update. Nothing spectacular.

Starting the head gasket soon. Started spraying the fender bolts and everything else I could think of to facilitate removal.
I’m not looking forward to it. I don’t think it’s that hard, I just haven’t worked on anything in quite awhile besides cosmetic stuff.

Started pulling stuff off to do the head gasket. Hopefully back together by July 10.

Head is off, working on cleaning up the firewall in the meantime.

Turns out I need a head.
Or an engine.
At least I can get back to removing the (re)paint in the meantime.

They had also cut holes in the rear crossmember for turn signals that never worked. I need to make a long strap to bridge the gap to bolt the reflectors to.

Threw the taillights, badges and reflectors on.

Q: Where did you find the reflectors?
& are the side are rear the same part??

It’s the head, but I’d get a whole motor if I had to.

I got them from another member. They’re still available though.

Hopefully the last two gallons of acetone I have to buy for this project. I have the hood and cowl left to do. I have a better condition blue windshield frame waiting.
Still waiting on the head to be finished.

Head gasket for that F is NLA. What did you find for a replacement?
