So ...... we have a 3D scan. We have an OEM top cover and possibly a way to 3D print them.
Ultimately we ( there are 3 parties involved ) need to get together to see if we can make it happen. Lots of logistics and some financial outlay required.

Ps: I do have a few sets of the oem split case ebrake components available; cast steel oem rear bearing retainer, new oem longer Tcase output shaft and the matching 19-spline ebrake drums.

Where's the best place to find cover dis/reassembly instructions? I'd assume the H55 manual has those, but have to admit I haven't looked yet.

Believe there are two internal pieces that are different then the 60 series that would need to reproduced or sourced.
We're fully aware that there are two components ( part of the shift rail assembly ) that are different between the 4X and 6X top covers. But relatively speaking, these are "easy" to replicate/manufacture compared to the cover itself.

Ok, my turn to bump for an update.

If I buy one of these 40 series top plates for my H55F, will I be able to use the shifter stem from my 40 series 4 speed transmission? Or is there a difference between the 40 series 4 speed shifter stem and the 5 speed shifter stem?

If you’re referring to the shift lever, they’re different between the 4 and 5 speeds

So if I bought one of these covers then a 40 series shift lever is the next piece of unobtanium I would have to find? Do we have to manufacture our own of those? I think they seem just as rare as the 40 series cover.

can anybody in here post pics of how 4-speed and 5-speed shift levers differ?

No, you can use a 60 or 70 series shift lever.

The shifter is going to bump into your knee whenever you throw it into 2nd gear with a 60-series shift cane. No big deal for some.... may be a big deal for others.

That’s true with a 60 series top cover. Doesn’t happen to me with a 40 series top cover with the 60 series shifter and I’m 6 feet tall.

The 40-series top loader moves the cane shifter forward a couple inches; but the angle is still weird with the 60-series cane whether it’s a 60-series top plate or not.
