JP,

Is that fan blade new? I dont trust those old metal fans, have you seen Rob's (landcrusher909) thread about losing a fan blade? Looking awesome!!!

Rockcod .... The fan is original:)..will check out land crushers thead to see what happened:o.. He has been very generous to our resto ....
Tks...DaddyLV

I have a question ....is the color of the wheel rims black or the color of the body on a 64LV?....I have seen it both ways in the period brochures....

What? No dual SD-40 manifold? For shame, for shame.

yeah I know.... we just felt the LV couldn't handle that kind of power, but don't fret my friend it will make its way onto my next cruiser project :hillbilly:

Question for you Cruiserheads..... is anyone out there remanufacturing the little sticker for the oil canister? Seems like I remember Shane doing them but I can't find them on his site. Ours was long gone we need one to replace it so we can keep the bone stock factory theme going :grinpimp:

and if no one is reproducing them anyone got a good close up photo I can use to make our own??

thanks guys!!

I'm willing to bet they went to plastic because it moved more air and was plastic hence lighter. I seriously doubt Toyota had failures in these fans in the first 5 or 10 years.

On another note y'all just don't understand JP. He's a purist. Heck I wheeled with him for years and he didn't even have a roll bar in his 62. All because it didn't come from the factory that way. He's not going to change.

JP if you need anymore blades of death I still have some.

You are right Marshall, I am trying to get him to let me install a heater....he is fighting me because he says it isn't original....."Mr. Bone Stock"!!!!!:bang:

My '64 left Toyota without a heater, but I now have an Eaton heater, which seems to be the most common dealer installed heater...so I am OK with it. The dealer also installed front lock-out hubs, but these will come off for original drive plates, so I understand his purist views ;)

Any updates...love seeing the great work you guys are doing

Boy we have really been slacking... let this thread fall to the second page again :o

Been out of town the past few weekends, so that has really slowed our progress but we have been putting in a few week nights here and there. Our lastest bit of work has centered around restoring the PTO. From the looks of it the winch had seen many years of hard use, but with lots of wire wheeling, blasting, and sanding we were able to get it back into respectable shape

What we started with...... a rusted crud incrusted mess:hillbilly:

Are those all new bolts or do you refurb the old bolts? Look like new Grade 8.8 bolts to me. Keeping it JIS anyway I hope?

Looks like you caught your foot on something wearing them sandals ;p

And what part of the LV was the cause of this ? When we say these trucks become apart of us some of really mean it

HeHe.... my pops was angle grinding with flip flops on and needless to say it got away from him :hillbilly: On our golf trip last weekend he kept blaming every slice and missed putt on his "injury"

and those are new bolts.... not JIS but they are metric. We were having a hard time finding JIS hardware that was cadmium or yellow zinc plated. So we went with a supplier in Flordia that supplied hardware for european cars. Not really a big deal as the only issue is the M8 bolts have a 13mil head instead of a 12mil.... and that is something I can live with.

Boo...I hate non-JIS hardware

But you've done more of this kind of stuff than I have, and it looks great with the yellow plating, so I'm not gonna complain :D

As long as I never have to wrench on it

:p
