Once the UCA's and kings are in, and the final height adj's are made I'm going to address the situation... not 100% on how yet though. I was reading a thread the other day about those timbren bump stops .. they may be an option, but I'll post up what I end up doing anyway ;)

Body lift.

Nice rig mate .
Do you have a link to were you bought therims from

Our " sahara" or vx to the rest of the world have the black around the windows

nathan,
thanks for the info.
The side photos are awesome!

I was only asking the tough questions about the wheels/tyres..coz there might be some young guys out there that dont know any better!

yeah i'd be keeping the old legal wheels too if i did that too, but seriously....wow it looks fantastic.
Another item added to my list :-/
cheers

Mother of Sweet Baby Jesus, that looks tough!! I have never liked any non-OEM wheels on the 100/105 but those look downright evil.

Whats the deal with the OZ trucks not having blacked out trim around the windows? Are all they all like that down there?

Paul/pfran42...only the Saharas (hi spec) or the Lexii (Lexus's) have the blackout.
The GXLs as standard dont.

Probably something Toyota wanted to distinguish the two.
You can read my various rants about Toyota giving us in Oz different specs to you on here.

Just to let you know one...you got the 4.7L VVTi engine in the last 100 series release over there in the USofA. We got it in the 200 series FFS. Where's the 5.7L ???

...
cheers

My ears pricked up at this haha. I wouldn't mind a little extra clearance for the rear too and BL would give that for sure. Do you have a write up on what was involved in yours?

I'm out at my parents property, on a working holiday driving a harvester for my Dad. My wife got bored of sitting on the tractor so I told her to go get some poser shots around the place. So no changes have been made, but here are the shots.

You'll need, in addition to the 1" body lift pucks (12-in all), longer bolts and you'll need to lengthen your radiator brackets.

Is it legal to make such a change to your vehicle where you live?

Yeah, in Queensland you are legally allowed 2" suspension lift and 2" body, as far as I know. Thanks for the email with your info thanks mate, our dollar has dropped a fair bit the few days so it'll be a while before I buy stuff from the states haha. But I'll keep researching my other options and post up what I work out!

I have always loved the bars that protect the front quarter panels. I only wish I could get them in a bolt on version that worked with my Slee Sliders and front ARB. The ARB all in one just doesnt cut it for me....

Take your ARB/Slee to a local metal fab shop and have them custom made. It would not be a difficult job.

I know. It is on my eventual list. I am hoping to also incorporate limb riser tabs like the did on the Proffit's build Linky

Man! I haven't seen Profitt's 100 before, that car is awesome! It says on the website that it has remote start, I'm sending him an email about that cos it would be sick a little feature.

Thanks for the Link! :D

You could do limb risers on a 100 series ARB bullbar without the tabs. I think Nick did it before

Google "homemade limb risers". I stole my idea from some guy. Mine are sitting in the garage. I need to put them back on but I'm to lazy

Yukon LX's post is the first result

Let me google that for you

and yes, this structural engineering lab is boring as fxxx

Sorry Clint79 I got the rims and tyres off a guy who trades under the name steve's discount wheels, in the states.

After driving out to the property and going through a few dips, I discovered it doesn't take much for the wheels to touch the guards on up travel. So here is my temporary fix that I came up with. I cut some 20mm shims out of a broken semi-trailer hoop we had lying around out there and, as you can see, I 'bonded' them to the lower control arm, where the bump stops contact them. I hit the same dips in the road coming back to town, at the same speed and I could feel the bump stops hit the shims before touching the guard. They've last 500km now and haven't come off so I think they'll last until I get around to a permanent fix.

The bash plate that joins from the bullbar down to the front crossmember was fairly well rusted too, so Nathan at Fatz Fabrications, the guy who did my inner wheel arches, made me up a new one in return for me giving him my old torsion bars. Here it is.
