Build My Tucson 40's

Got home from camping up north at Blue Ridge Reservoir and my new seat belts were waiting for me. So was the heat......went from rain and 64 to 110 and oven like. Anyways, I clipped the new belts in place and gave them a try. Good fitment. I used the factory eyelets.

I should be getting some needed parts this week to wrap up the last things. Then it's time to see if it will run.

The fix was easier than I thought. The guide inside the b pillar of the tub was bent out of shape and blocking the bow from going all the down. I hammered the guide out of the way......and it fits like a glove now.

Ha..... sort of.....it was the lower, inner guide piece, not the "set" bolt.

You can actually adjust the b pillar pretty easily on this set up. I haven't put the top on yet......mostly due to garage lighting.

Toyota box showed up today. So I bolted on a few easy items. Got a battery too. Should make some good progress over the next few days.
Might take a little road trip to buy some more Cruiser goodies too.

I also got all the twist locks for the top. I hope to install that over the weekend. As long as everything else goes as planned.

Jack, where did the white lens front apron markers come from?

It's actually an orange one that has faded out in the Arizona sun. I repainted the rusty bezel though.
If anybody's got some nice orange ones to spare.....let me know

Non faded front orange reflectors in AZ are hard to find. Know the originals for my 68 faded a long time ago. Not sure how many I have but do have some in much better shape. Came across the box with my front reflectors a few weeks ago. Not where I thought they were but that's become the normal.

Just got back from a Cruiser parts buying road trip. My Ford kicked ass and got some of it's best gas mileage ever. It's hot as he'll out.....so the better parts reveal will happen later........

This why I spend as little time as possible in the valley during the summer. I was back Wednesday and Thursday. Today after 11:00 AM and still in the mid seventies.

Where are you getting your soft top from?

I got my top from SOR.

Got the dash wiring done and the gauge cluster installed. Built some battery cables. Mounted the jack rod and holders too.

Fuel lines are finally connected to the fuel tank.
I made some custom washers for the intake / header combo cause fitment is always a joke. Used a Remflex gasket.

I bought them from Toyota.

Filled all the fluids except coolant. Had a rear diff cover leak, so I resealed that. The brakes had a few leaks which stopped after some tightening. Still need to bleed and adjust those. Getting close.
