Unfortunately on the way home the 68 decided to spit out a freeze plug. That resulted in a James Bond smoke screen and confirmed one of my worries. The oil is leaking into the coolant. So the crack is a definite engine killer.
I installed an expansion plug the next day and added some water. Truck does not want to run now. More on this later.
I am convinced this 40 hates me......lol

I don't think that it doesn't like you but rather the opposite. I get vehicles like this at work all of the time they like being pampered and attention so they will do what ever it takes to stay in the car spa

The main issue is that this truck should have been gone by now. I want to work on the next project.

Considering no rust repaired needed and basically a bolt in motor is really all it needed to become a driver that is fair price. I hate rust way more than mud.

After the expansion plug install, the truck just would not idle or stay running. The carb needed some love so i decided to rebuild it. I also cleaned out the filter bowl of debris. Torn it down yesterday and rebuilt today. Still need to install and tune.

Installed the carb and it's running better. Still need to clean the oily coolant mess of the bottom of the chassis and floors.
At least it's somewhat mobile and cool looking........

Not in town but here some pictures of my pieces. You wheel well used a bracket that used four bolts. Have those but no pictures.

If the curved piece are loose going to be tricky to get the right height set. Once the round bow goes thru the round hole down in the B pillar it's the welded curved pieces resting in the tub that set the level. Your on a fast track but will be in town later in the month.

do you still have the safety strap hardware? if so i;; take them
