I look for picture, but they are smaller dia. and they look different than the others, at least in my set.

You really need a check up from the neck up, if you're thinking about door gaps on the Riviara! :)

I believe the two on left were for the front two mounts.

Thanks Ron. I second-guessed using the bushing and only installed 1/2 of them... thinking the full length bushing wasn't right.

I checked mine and I think I've got the right ones installed. I didn't remember what I installed. I guess this weekend I'll loosen all the bolts from the doghouse and see if I can get a better alignment.

I'm glad I'm not paying a body shop by the hour to align my doors and fenders.

Nuff said.

Still working on panel alignment. I dropped the hood on today and I think my issues are due to the body being a bit offline. The hood sets to the left when spaced evenly at the cowl. Makes sense why the drivers door has a large gap then. I was also having trouble with the passenger door hitting the fender apron when fully open. I might be able to get more gap if the body moves a bit.

Again, I'm glad I'm not paying a body shop. I'd go broke just aligning panels.

Yeah, that's a bummer. I finally gave up and let a body shop do it. For me, it was acceptable and they knocked it out fairly fast. A lot more experience than what I was bringing to the game. Talk about expensive, have somebody wire the whole thing! In my best Pablo voice, " Oh Mylanta! "

Hang in there buddy,

I finally got my body man (me) to get off his butt and finish up his work so I can move it into the paint deparment. Hopefully my paint man (me) can make some progress during the Christmas holidays.

I sprayed a coat of expoxy primer over everything. Next I'll spray a couple coats of gray high build primer and hopefully the black epoxy will allow me to see bad spots and imperfections during block sanding.

Man, that's looking good. I apologize if you mentioned already, but what colors have you decided on?

Toyota's Army green from the fj cruiser. I'll probably do the two tone with something that's a warmer tone than cygnet white. Somewhere between tan and white. Probably close to your lighter color.

Oh yeah, now I remember. :) It's going to look so good in final paint, well worth the effort. Keep at it.

Ha ha! I see we both have the same guy working on our piggies ;)
Funny enough, he also does the house painting, septic system repair, plumbing, electrical, etc. around my house too;)

Like scrapdaddy said, looking good!

What was the fix for your alignment issues?

Pig is looking great!!!

Pig is looking great!!!

I tweaked on the front clip bushings. I had the correct bushing there but just need a bit of persuasion to become better aligned. The driver's side was tightened down more than the other so it caused the clip to sit slightly crooked. I also loosened all the body mounts because I found the hood was off-to-the-side once I tried to get it set in place. Once I shifted the entire body a bit, the hood aligned as needed.

The driver's door a-pillar gap could probably stand some more work but I think I'm close enough. I'm also having trouble with the driver's side passenger door where the grip rail that holds the weather stripping rubs on the door jam. No matter what I do to the adjustments, I can't seem to get the door to sit any higher to fix the rub. I'm not sure what's going to happen once I add weather stripping. Hard to believe these all fit just fine before I took them apart...

I'm assuming all those issue can be overcome as part of the final assembly. I now fear trying to do all this alignment with freshly painted doors. I'm sure I'm going to have a few paint chips to fix along the way.

My paint guy(me) came to work today. I threatened to cancel his contract and send him the bill for someone else to do it. Cheapskate decided to work instead.

I put down a couple of coats of high build primer so I can spend time blocking during the next couple weeks.

As they say it's hard to get good help. They always think their worth more than we pay them and dependability and focus are problems.

Sand! Prime! Repeat!

Got a couple panels to finished state. Still a few to go.
