They do look good. Seem to match the rest of the lights well with the bezel and style. Wonder if dealer can get this?

Finally had weather which let me get out the paint gun. I was able to finally get the gas tank painted and mounted in its place. The front clip is ready to bolt up after I get some weather stripping for where it bolts up to the firewall.

Looking good. Never noticed before, but i like your outboarded springs. Very nice!

It's nice to work with the shop door open again! I've been waiting for it warm up to paint some Monstaliner, also. I like the long saw horses.

More of the routine. Apply, sand, repeat.

I also started to prep my fender and apron to be bonded and riveted together. Ran out of time so that happens nest.

Nik,

In an earlier picture, you had the fenders mounted up. Is that when you made sure everything lined up. I had to do a lot of micro adjustments to get everything to work and thinking I should have gone your route and pop riveted the two together.

I'm not sure mounting them before helped with bonding the apron and fender together. I mainly lined them up on the bench with the two bolts on each end, then drilled holes for the rivets.

I was able to get them bonded today and I think I'm going to buy a flowable drip edge sealant to place in the seam. I need to buy a drip edge sealant anyway so it should flow in the seam for a smooth finish.

I also spent the day cleaning the seam sealer from my drip edge with an oscillating tool equipped with the scraper attachment and wire brush.

As it always happens....

I started the day thinking I would seal the drip edge and move on to the seam on my fenders. As I was cleaning the drip edge to get it ready I found the dreaded rust hole.

There were three or four holes about 1/16th inch. I missed them before so they may have been hidden by the original seam sealer I cleaned yesterday. I debated welding the holes or doing more serious surgery. I opted for the scalpel.
Delayed another day. I plan on soaking the dead space of the headliner with rust converter and then a thorough coating of cavity wax to prevent further rusting but for now a little more welding and body filler.

It started as a casual day of spring break. I wasn't too motivated to do much more than put drip edge sealer down.

Well it happened to be one of those perfect days with almost no wind. I've been waiting to lay down some primer over my body work. Earlier in the week I had made a run to Lowes and purchased plastic sheeting to see if I could devise a method for painting to limit the overspray. I have bicycles and kayaks hanging from the ceiling and after stairing at it for a couple hours I returned all the materials. I figured I'd find days without too much wind to roll it out into the driveway. It was one of those days.

I was able to get primer on all the body work so I can start blocking. The end result gets me excited.

And rolled back into its proper place.

Really looking nice. I like that seam sealer between the fenders. Will you tape right down the sealer, when you put on the top coat?

That's what I'm thinking. I'll just tape down the body line. With primer over it, it will sand smooth so should be just what I'm looking for.
