Waiting for parts so decided to look into the door rattle...

First off, some P.O. decided to use some sort of runny adhesive on the moisture barrier, ugh.

After an hour or so of clean up with Goo-Gone it looked like this.

It turns out that the lower aft felt runner came out and was wedged in the bottom of the door.

Ordered some newer style window runs from CityRacer and inner & outer window felts from Toyota along with new door lock assemblies.

I have had some new moisture barriers for years, I think from @GA Architect.

These will go in with proper butyl rope.

Soon the doors will be rattle free so I can hear all the other rattles, lol
I took a little different approach with my moisture barrier -

I stripped the wheel I had painted. It was a tad too dark and had some orange peel.

I had painted the base coat with black but after sanding the other rims down, I can see that the original rims had a white base coat under the gray.
Going to duplicate that in an effort to lighten up the color.

Goo Gone Graffiti paint remover made short work for removing the Rustoleum

Have the same exact failure on factory passenger seat in my 2/80.

The replacement seat I got has a bit of bend to it.

Thinking I may make a form from the seat in my 60 as it's not bent. Then straighten the spare seat base and weld some plates to it and some small diameter pipe to reinforce the bends/curves.

It looks like these seats just need a simple plate stiffener welded down the center of the valley in that formed bracket. Is the 60 series seat base identical?

Rustoleum Machine Grey is lighter than the Massey grey. Lots of members report good

Yes, the late 40 bottom seat frame appears identical to the 84 -87 60 series seat base.
Once I strip down the 40 & 60 seats I'll post up more detailed pics
Edit - seat bases are identical between the 40 & 60. The surface they are on is uneven.
60 on the left & 40 on the right

Put another failure on the board for passenger side 2/79 build.
Geez, y’all are making me think I need to walk out to the barn for a looksy.

They look like they are bending aft on the horizontal portion and then inward on the vertical portion. That move the pivot point aft and inward. This likely happened to my 40 frame before the crack started

Here are some better pics of the bends and a known good 60 passenger seat base next to it.

2/80. “Cruiser lean”. Passenger side is bent and cracked, drivers side look unaffected.

'84 60 donor seat bottom bent back into a close position. It closely matches the donor '87 60 passenger seat bottom bracket angles now

However, it too has developed a crack. It appears to start on the raised curve due to there being no support behind it. Combined with the thin metal and the bending downward it cracks there.

Here is the comparison between the cracked and bent 40 driver bottom vs. the now semi-straightened donor 60 bottom.

Sorry to blow up your build thread. Does that mat fit well enough to spend $150 on the weathertech version in grey? I found it offered in black, grey, and tan....

It appears to fit darn near perfectly.
Amazooom does have everything.
Weather tech website showed only black available.

There may be a better fitting solution out there that doesn't have the tapered short edge and is about 4 inches wider.
