Good Job Eli.... *pats back*

At first I thought is was'nt you with the new hair dew... ;)

haha well I think the next build is going to have to wait for my bank to recover from the landcruiser sickness!!

Actually my mom really wants me to restore her a 50's truck...I was thinking something like a 52' 3100 series or something...that way Im not hurting my pocketbook!

OK so Ive never used this muffler guy but he was great! We decided to convert it from dual 2 in. exhaust to a single 3in. We ditched the turbo mufflers and went with a silver bullet glass pack. IT SOUNDS GREAT

So I was driving it around...when I picked it up and such...and noticed the RPM's were SUPER HIGH....and since the motors bran new....I cant have that...need to brake it in easy....

So I figured it just wasnt kicking into third gear....I had to take it on the highway to my local Toyota dealership to use one of their tools....and couldnt get it to go over 30 without getting my RPM's sounding high (keep in mind my tach isnt hooked up so im guessing based on the sound)...It started to piss me of...."why the hell wont it shift into 3rd"

Anyway on my way home I stopped of at my buddys house (the PO) and asked him if he had any issues with it shifting into third....he said no so I spun it around the block and listened really closely....sure enough it was shifting into third..it just was really smooth.....so I hit myself on the head and started to put 2 and 2 together....I went back to the PO's house and asked him which direction it needed to be in for 4 low and 4 high etc..... he couldnt reemeber....

to make a longish story shorter....

I removed the shift linkage (the tub was blocking it from engaging in one direction...so I only had one option as long as the linkage was put together) and shifted into the opposite slot...the one that the tub had been blocking it from going into.

I get the dumbass of the year award...it was in 4low.:doh::doh::doh::cool:

Sure enough as soon as we changed it, it easily climbed to 45 (didnt want to take it higher for the below reason) and kept the RPMS wayyy low sounding...

Glad I caught that one...

NOW to the reason why I wont take it about 20 or so.

DEATH WOBBLES

I assume they are being caused by the fact that I dont have shocks, and that I have done absolutely NO toe in adjustment....infact looking at it it appears to be a few degress toe out! Im sure driving it like this cant be good so im going to do a rough adjustment to 2degreess toe in and then take it to an alighnment machine.

Are those the most likely culprates of the death wobbles? or is there more that could be causing it.?

I have a video of it with the new exhaust....let me know if its something you guys would like to see.

:cheers::cheers:

That was a rhetorical question right? Hell yeah we want to see more video! :D

As for the death wobble...No real help here but I would start with an balancing the tires and then an alignment. Shocks should help some but I imagine badly balanced tires would be my first idea.

As for driving around in 4-LO... I'm sure more have done that before but at least you could admit to it :D

keep up the good work!
