haha well I got distracted with my TCASE problems....see "transfer case NOT engageing thread" and forgot to take pics....but yea it looks good....all of a sudden when the hood was put up, it seemed to get about 4 in higher! Im having a few issues with body lines....like where the fender skirt meets up with the cowl....that line is a bit more apart then it should be...but im going to let my painter work that out!

Hopefully we will resolve the tcase issue and get it on the road soon.

We also have a stubborn bolt (the one that you take out to fill the front axle) it wont come out...and keeps rounding itself....so I think we will try to get it red hot and then use a cresent on it or something.....

Eli, I had this happen to my tranny filller bolt, ended up getting it out eventually but what a PITA. Suggest you replace them with the hex kind. Much easier and less prone to this problem.

BTW, now I always take off the filler bolt before the drain. Just in case I can't get it off, I am not stranded with no fluid in that system.

Hope it helps.

Eli,

I've never done this but I have read threads where people have done one of two things...

First, find a socket a little smaller than the bolt and gently tap it onto the bolt till it grips enough that you can get the bolt off.

Second trick, tack weld a nut to the bolt.

A man size pipe wrench if its not tore up to much to get it on. Also you try a sharp chizel and hammer to try to break it loose.

yea Im waiting on my buddy to bring his welder over, so we can weld a nut onto it.

in the mean time im pretty stressed out about the whole tcase issue... I really hope its something that im not doing properly to put into gear...if I have to pull the tcase im gonna be raging pissed.

anyone have a magic wand that i can point at the cruiser and make it work?

Its ALIVE

Last nigh we finished everything that wasnt done...for the most part...we welded a nut onto the stubborn front axle fill nut....and poped it off...filled front and rear axle....put on PS pump....cut into the alum tub to clear the shifter.....etc etc

It was too late last night to test it out....so the plan was that I would start it up this morning, put it in drive, and see if it would move under its own power....then put it back in the garge and go for the real test drive later today with my mech buddy so he can evaluate how it drives....

So it moved when I put it in drive, and to say the least I got a little excited and decided I would drive it 50-100ft to the roundabout and then back into the garage....as I came out of the garage, it worked fine, but then I let off the gas, and the TCase dissengaged....so I turned it off, moved the gears around, and then rocked the body, and it made a clicking sound....so I turned it back on and drove steadily to the roundabout.....like I said bout 50ft or so....then as I let off the gas to go around the roundabout, and then got back on the gas, It had once again dissengaged....this time I couldnt get it to go back in....so with the help of a few neighbors, we pushed her back to the garage.....

Very excited over here.....alittle confused about the TCASE issue.....but the night before it wasnt engageing at all, and today after some fluid and TLC it is.....so maybe we can get it to work consistently with a bit more care...?

cool!!!!! but pics man... I got all day to sit here at work.... please!!!

What do you expect me to do man. Work!?!?!

Post pics please. By the way, glad to see you are almost done man, hope I can fell that soon.

though you graduated in Dec? are you in college? Thought you were doing that in CA?

Well I was supposed to...but since I dislocated my shoulder and couldnt carry enough weight to carry all the photo equiptment...I had to defer college...and since I hadnt officially recieved my deploma I figured I would sign up for some free classes at the HS like cooking and welding....they have way good welding equipt. so its worth having to come back.

rods

You spray those tie rods? I cant remember with all the work that you have done but the thing is looking great. I just got the tub off of mine and am held up for a few weeks.

Test drive # 2 and 3 went perfectly. Brakes still need to be bled one more time...but other than that everything seems solid. I figure pictures arent going to look to much differnt. So ill make a video and post it up tmrow.

Wait what am I saying, PARTY!!!! It is what that school was made for, but its a nice place Im sure youll love it. Can't wait for that video.
