Once when changing fuel filter and once when I swapped injectors. How often have you ever had to prime
Came home to find a puddle of diesel on the garage floor today. I've got myself a leaky fuel tank. I had noticed earlier in the week I had a hissing after shutting it down so I knew exploration was coming. Pulled the tank and found it had a small hole in it, probably from rust.
I also found some sweet new holes I have to cover with duck tape on reinstallation.

Does anyone know where the hose on the right should go in the photo above? It has an inline filter and a hose barb on the dead end. I could tell it hasn't gone anywhere in years by the amount of dry dirt lodged in barbed end.

No charcoal canister on diesels from what I am aware of. I thought about OEM but the price would have been a little steep for me even though I prefer OEM.That hose to the right goes to the line that eventually makes its way to the charcoal canister in the engine compartment (mine connected to a hard line that was underneath the car). My understanding is that it is a one way pressure valve (which is still available from Toyota but is like $50!). I took mine out because the tank was pressurizing and I kept hearing sheet metal popping. OEM gas tank is available too btw and price was reasonable.
Yes I splurge on certain things and go cheap on others. DD dash was a almost a wash if you consider the gauges I would have needed to add /or fix. I also had my Ford leave me stranded yesterday due to bad starter, I think, so that came into play when looking at available funds.A little steep from the guy who got a Dakota Digital cluster...Oh sorry, I see you already ordered a replacement.
I'm not a diesel guy so didn't realize that. But that's where that line goes for the regular fuel vehicles. So no pressurization issues? Seems like you could just cap all the lines then and bypass that altogether.
A few updates.
First I picked up a 3B/4 speed/split case combo that came out of a 82. Unknown mileage. Goal is to get it to a point of starting to see how it sounds and then decide if it gets a rebuild or just a refresh. Split case will get a full rebuild and hopefully find a 5 speed that I can sandwich between them. This is a long term project as I have no issues with the B engine at the moment. I always have wanted to learn more about diesels so this is more of a learning project for myself. It was fun times getting it off the back of the truck and onto the stand by myself. Used the HF engine hoist to do it.
Second I ordered another aftermarket radiator since the OEM I have looks like it has been through a war. It's on its last leg after the last fix and it not holding up to my afternoon compute in the Texas heat. This time I went with a Champion radiator, 3 row aluminum made for an FJ40. However I am having them swap sides of the inlet and outlet to work with my B.

brother.Nice upgrade u are going to have on ur rig, I did mine and for sure u will notice it once will be running, 4speed is fully ok for this swap, I won´t look for a 5th gear box since everything from B engine will work fine. If you need some information feel free to ask. and the Hose that u was asking on diesel does not do anything is just a presure hose with a filter. on mine was full of dirt, I took it away clean it and replace the filter with a new one.A few updates.

That's the section I should have been more specific with the shop but I was only anal about the rear when telling them what I wanted. They ran it lower than I would have liked instead of beside the frame rail like it was. Although I wasn't a fan of how it was before either. I tried to find a way to keep it inside the frame but there isn't room. I am going to have them redo that section. It was an east side place next to my work so it was more about convenience than anything else.More pics from downpipe how it loops around the frame please
