Also noticed that copper spray on material on the part you screw into the plug holes.

Thoughts? Test dine dry. Butterfly on carb stuck open.

numbers aren't too bad, the "copper stuff" might be anti seize

Yeah that's the plan now. Got to order a hose kit for the motor and a carb rebuild kit today

Started working on the frame.

I will still end up using acid in some spots. Simply impossible to reach some spots without removing the tub.

Picked these up over the weekend. Supposedly from a bmw.

Drivers side seat is done and mounted. Need some hardware before I can do the passenger side. Also picked up a carb from trollhole. Hoping to try and fire it up Sunday or monday.

Carb is on. Got to figure out fuel line and power to fuel cut off cylenoid. Marshall van I get the female end to this connector anywhere?

That's ok I already ordered them. Will have to sort out the wiring though.

Alrighty then! Tried to start her up this morning. Turns over but no fire. Possible reasons:

1. My throttle cable is still a little long. May not be opening up enough to get gas?

2. Inside of dizzy doesn't look good. Asked about points at auto store and they kept coming up with a point breaker assembly? That sound right?

Fuel pump definitely is working and got 12v to cylenoid on carb. Click click!

Also what is this. And the electrical connection is at firewall drivers side.

The throttle cable should have no bearing on on getting the cruiser to run. Are you getting spark to the plugs? and gas into cycl. also try some starter fluid to help get it going once you establish you have spark and fuel at the party. Good luck

they are called breaker points, not point breakers, and yes, that would be right.
The best bet on parts like that is to find an old guy working bekind the counter and befriend him.
You should set them with a dwell meter instead of gapping them, also.
Or get an electronic one from Marshall (preferred)

I have one from an fj60 just yrying b not to spend anymore $ until I hear the motor run.

Get some sand paper and sand in between the point contacts. While cranking confirm you see a small spark between them.

Hell let me know your schedule and maybe I can fly out there and help you for and hr or so. If I can get a cruiser that has been sitting out in a field for 30 years running in an hr your's should be a piece of cake.

First one is Toyota's early attempt at smog. Just disconnect everything, cap all the ports and remove it.

Second one is the connection and bracket for the windshield washer bottle. Operates by turning the wiper knob counter clockwise.
