Great job!!! I've been doing the same to my FJ. It's a lot of cleaning and scrapping, but you can't deny the results... Keep up the good work.

Kinda screwed up loading the first couple of pictures ..lol
Found this one in a barn in the mountains a few years ago. I've been using it in the winter for plowing snow.
I figured it was time to make it what I wanted.
It's about half way done.Lots of time and money, but lots of fun too.

Awesome work! You need to start a thread of your build.

Today I removed the oil pump for cleaning, also removed the intake and exhaust manifolds I'll be cleaning and re-installing with fresh gaskets

I also removed the carb fan heat sensor and the wire broke off the sensor. I'll be cleaning and re-soldering the sensor wire.

In this pic the wire is still intact

That flex hose on the carb normally goes to the egr valve.. so it handles decent heat..its post egr cooler but still hot..
I tried getting that hose when doing my 2f rebuild but could not..so I wound up using high temp silicone hose of same inner diameter to be honest the napa store had some rated pretty high

I refurbished and painted the carb fan sensor, installed new wire with heat shrink rated at 125 degrees C and new terminals ready for re-install 0

Today aside from continuing with the cleaning and painting parts it was time to start re-assembly so I dropped in the intake/exhaust manifolds using the lift arm to gently lower it in place, again sorry about the crappy pics.
