Repaired the rusted sections and cleaned it all back, layed on some epoxy primer, filled in any low spots with a thin layer of filler. Also sprayed my 40 series spare centre dash piece, this had been butchered so l welded up the radio section for now. Tailgate came out nice, just needs a high build coat and ready for some white paint which will come later. Possibly be unemployed soon so might get a good amount of time off to finish some projects😉

Finally got around to getting a new winch bar and rear bar with tyre carrier laser cut. Took a while to find someone decent who didn’t want a kidney to do it.
Anyway got all the parts done for a good price, few minor hiccups with some pieces not bent right and the cad drawings lacking some info.
Got a start on the front bar today.

.... I was definitely proud of those welds as l’m not a welder.....
It's very satisfying when you get it just right! Second only to hitting a one-iron down the middle of the fairway

Still waiting on the centre section of tube for my bulbar, not many people local to me interested in this job. Considered buying my own tube bender but its a big outlay for a few small jobs, l would like some sliders thou;)
Recently l have been chasing a loss of fuel pressure issue and cutting out, l replaced the fuel pressure relay a while ago thinking it may have been a problem but the issue is occurring more frequently. It will crank and start and the only way to keep it running is feathering the throttle, then after 5 mins or so back to normal.
Car stalls and l notice the fuel pressure drops to zero, l'm thinking that the crank angle sensor in the dissy or maybe a bad relay cutting power to the fuel relay?
Might check some wiring diagrams and see, l do have some spare dissy's to swap in.
Anyone had a similar problem?

Managed to get the centre tube section bent up with the help of a mate who owns a bender. Pics of it test fitted and angled slightly forward, then to finish the welding, sanding and painting. Also have some spotlight tabs to weld on and find a spot for my uhf aerial. This might have to wait another week or two yet.
Been a hectic week and the dog got into a bust up in the street yesterday and got his face opened up, he's usually a good healer and hopefully it won't require the vet.

Nice low profile !

Fitting an 80 series booster to my HJ47 for an upgrade and having to adjust the rod coming out of the front of the booster. After looking at it and comparing it to my other spare it seems like the rod is too far in?
Like it’s almost on the knurled section of shaft.

Got the best of me and removed the booster and gave it a shake, something was loose inside. Pulled the vacuum valve and could see a rubber disc, thinking that’s the reaction disc that should be behind the pushrod. After some careful manoeuvring the disc was back in place and now the shaft sits at the correct height. Warning if your going to clean up and paint your booster be careful not to let this fall out from behind the rod. Glad l took it off now👍

Got some more time to finish welding on my bullbar and only need to weld the aerial and spotlight brackets, still working out the best position for the spotlights.
Thinking either side of the grill out towards the headlights to give the best airflow to the radiator.
Went and grabbed a few trailer loads of gravel yesterday and when leaving for the second time the car cut out. Swapped the fuel pump resistor and she fired back up, but when l got home which was 5 mins down the road it cut out again. Tried the Circuit opening relay no good, then the EFI relay which was super hot and that sorted it. Not sure why the relay was super hot?
Checked and tried to tighten all the efi relay and fuse holder pins and checked amp draw on both to see if my bigger fuel pump is causing the issue.
Looks like 5.5a and 7.4a at full throttle which seems ok to me?
