I started top coating my POR-15 application with gloss black rustoleum and just wasn't happy with the shiny look. After fully coating all surfaces twice with the gloss black rustoleum I chose to use this truck bed coating product from rustoleum as the final coat. It's called "Truck Bed Pro Grade" by rustoleum. It claims to be non skid, abrasion.
and impact resistant as well as fade resistance. The can is huge! It is 24 ounces, more than enough to finish the sliders after a top coat of gloss black. It has a very broad spray tip that coats the entire top side of the slider in one pass. I'm going to apply 2 coats and save the rest of the giant can for touch up. It's a thick coating that easily covers up light runs and specks. And it's not glossy shiny!

Where did you get this stuff? Can’t find it at Home Depot or on Amazon.

FYI the 100 series Raw sliders went out of stock this AM (40 deep to start). We are waiting on Laser cutting right now. Next Thursday I am putting two welders on them (left and right) to get them to ship ASAP. The official back in stock date is now July 15th for raw. However, shooting to start shipping the raw slides with the UPS labels baking on to them still hot from welding. Powdercoated ones 20 deep at the start are now gone. We are shooting to have them back in July 31st

I ordered first thing Wed morning, and it still says awaiting fulfillment so I'm guessing that I just missed the ones in stock?

Yep... thanks for the link! It shows it as not available at any Home Depot in my area. Gives me an option for express shipping (at $35 for shipping alone) and no option for standard shipping or ship-to-store.

I bought the por-15 six pack of 4 ounce cans on amazon, and just happened to find the rustoleum pro grade truck bed spray at home depot.

I also ordered the 6 pack of 4 ounce cans of POR-15, but I likely will just go with primer and paint instead. Going to save the POR-15 for my truck frame once I get the surface rust off.

I had good luck using some black satin rustoleum over some rustoleum primer, nothing special, the trick is to make sure you can get the same paint again in the future to touch the sliders up. Even if you aren't dragging them over rocks, your tires will kick stuff into them and they'll get some chips.

My opinion is that a good prep (knock down any sharp edges left, and weld splatter, rough surface, clean with MEK), primer, and even coats will make more of a difference than the type of coating you use.

If you'd like, I can get pictures and show what two years looks like on my sliders.

Oh, that sucks. I was thinking about putting textured bed liner on the tops over primer, and then I have a full can of color match body paint I was going to put over that and see how it looks. I'll post it up when its done.

As for the POR15, I don't have enough to do the entirety of both sliders so I think I'm just going to do the welds.

Just wanted to give a shoutout to Metal Tech. I bought my sliders last month, a few weeks before this group buy was announced. I hit them up re their 30 day price guarantee and asked if I needed to do anything to get my purchase refunded. This was their reply:

"Tommy, you have done all you need to do.
We will be processing refunds and price guarantees beginning the 16th.
I have printed your order and placed it in the folder for that processing.

thanks for purchasing our products.

I just placed my order, pretty sweet deal. This is the kind of deal ive been looking for, for well over a year.

I got the same email after inquiring, that's good that they take care of their people. To be honest i was a little jealous that right after i paid full pop for the sliders this group buy showed up, but they'll kick us back the difference so it's all good. More money can go towards gas for my trip. 6000 miles, 12 miles a gallon, $3 a gallon = $1500 gas money

I ordered on Tuesday afternoon and just got a response from MT that I am in the wave of orders that are waiting for production.

@GatorBait1551

Posted the first photo on our FB page yesterday. The second one is 100 Series slider nursery this AM. These will have rails bent and notched this next week done about the same time laser cutting shows up with the mounting feet. Dimple die plates we already pressed in the house ready for this run. They go on two welding tables Thursday with each welder finishing = one set hot ready for a UPS label. Officially the lead time is set for July 15th before they ship. But we might get them out sooner....

NOTE: Metal-tech 4x4 only makes our in-house products. No job shop work and no other vehicle other than Toyota - just our parts. #focus

"Truck Bed Pro Grade" by rustoleum....

It looks like a gunmetal/dark gray in the photos (or maybe it's just my monitor), would you consider the color black? I really like this as a top coat idea, I definitely am not looking for a gloss coat.

My plan is to spray with a 2k epoxy primer, then topcoat with something dark with a non-gloss finish.

i wonder what OEM wheels would look like finished with this stuff?

I couldn't resist, and just ordered a set of the OPOR (raw steel) sliders.

It is definitely black in color, I would say similar to the color of a black charcoal briquette. Here is a couple better pics in daylight, the first showing the real color and the second is a close up of the texture(the color is less accurate). If you have ever used the rustoleum "hammered" texture products it is similar to that but in a heavier duty kind of way and without the gloss finish. Overall this is a very matte finish product. I am super happy with how it looks right now, and am eager to see how well it holds up to getting stepped on and how well it holds up to the sun.

Thanks @LandForce1 for the follow up, I think they turned out great. Mine will be here on Tuesday, but it will take some time to get the primer, paint and other supplies together. Hope to have them painted and installed in a few weeks.

How would we know if we made the cut? I ordered mine on May 1, ORDER #10507. Mine also says awaiting fulfillment :( how long must I wait!? I'm a sad panda for now...
