Can you clock the dizzy around, looks like a big flat spot underneath that would let it sit deeper. Yes you will need to move the plug wires to the correct new location
Looks can be deceiving. Refer to post 503 without the cap on

Could you possibly get a picture from the side so that I can see how far over the distributor goes.
Try these

After my kids' car show I asked if I can park it at my work for a little while. Over the weekend I came and installed the mechanical oil pressure gauge and did some other minor little stuff. "Improved" the clearance from the distributor and side cover, got my seat covers secured better. And hooked up the lights for the mechanical coolant temp sensor and the oil pressure gauge. Come to find out the distributor was down as far as it could go but still not down far enough. I talked to Mike Lypp on Facebook and lengthened the dizzy shaft just about ⅛-¼ the distance it was short. I also got it set up that I can run both my mechanical and electric oil pressure gauges

She had a bit of life in her today. I did a cold valve adjustment verified again that the distributor was in the oil pump and all all of the way down. Got the dizzy cap on and was able to get her started. I checked the mechanical oil pressure gauge

And also verified that the electric oil pressure gauge was also working.

So I got her running right and dialed in Friday on my day off. For those keeping score yes I went into work on my day off and did the work that I normally do except for on my own car and received $0 pay in order to do it. I found out that there was a solenoid on the carburetor that I didn't have hooked to any thing and come to find out it was fairly important. I got the valves adjusted, the valve cover on the air cleaner on and sitting correctly.

I kinda like the millennium falcon air cleaner as @projectwrongway calls it over the old air cleaner

But as I tried to test drive it she didn't want to move. I am begging to think she doesn't like me. I had to flat tow it home ( yes I made sure I put it in neutral before we left.) my boss told me to have it gone before the big boss gets back tomorrow. But she is home in my garage again.

This weekend was awesome I was able to find this one that I had been looking for.

But I decided that this one isn't going to stay in the collection but I am passing it on and paying it forward to @firefighterjed. But even better I was able to get her started, running and moving tonight. All the thanks to @RLMS and @orangefj45 for helping over the phone. I am way too excited this is the best feeling I have had in a while.

So I found the leak in my coolant/ heater one of the older hoses split right down the middle.

For now with the temperature raising I decided to semi temporary simi permanently do a heater delete. I was able to drive it around for a while on Saturday and it felt noticeably cooler in the cab. I think that once I get it on the road more I will be able to tell for certain if it stays cooler on my truck. On a similar note my new seat covers worked awesome.

However it doesn't seem like the 2nd barrel of carb is opening enough for fuel to be pulled in so that I can get faster speeds. Even at wide open throttle she doesn't have a lot of giddy up. That was after watching @OTRAMM fine tune a 2 barrel carb on YouTube.

So she doesn't want to become a daily driver. A week ago I wanted to drive her to work. as i was getting to the top of the verry slight hill to leave my neighborhood she stalled even though I had driven her around the afternoon before. when she stalled I could get her started back up and had to coast her back down to my house. Then the other day after I took the drained battery to AutoZone to get charged and they didn't even hook up the battery to the charger and then tried to "convince" me that the battery was not holding a charge. I took it to work and put it on the trickle charger there. Got it home and she fired right up. I then decided to fix AN ID10T code that would cause the battery to drain. The lights for the temperature gauge and the oil pressure gauge I had wired to the light switch but it was wired to constant hot. So I decided to wire into the tail light circuit so that the light would come on with the switch. Then my kill switch got unplugged and had to figure out that ID10T code. I got both of those problems fixed and I was able to start it up and test the vacuum at the carb, and the vacuum advance to see why she hadn't been able to feel peppy when in third gear. Wednesday night I had her idling for about 20 minutes or so. This morning when I went to feed the dog I decided to start her up to get her warmed up. She didn't run for long and stalled but I just took that to be that the choke wasn't pulled. When it came time to leave for work I was able to get her started up and idling. I decided to let her run for a bit to warm up and when she seemed like she was waking up I decided to start driving. I got to the exact same spot not 100 yards away from my house she stalled out again and didn't want to start up. I mean I don't exactly like leaving for work at 5:30 am either but she is really throwing a fit about it.

Mechanical or electric fuel pump? Sounds like it's getting enough fuel to idle but not enough for under load, especially climbing a hill. Partially plugged fuel filter or fuel line?
Mechanical fuel pump. What is interesting is that my driveway is steeper then the "hill" to get out of my neighborhood. When I got home she fired right up and I was able to drive it through my neighborhood. This morning I was able to drive it out of the neighborhood to the gas station to put a bit of gas in her. I think the problem might be with my throttle cable being bent and kinked making it hard to go through the housing.

Spray type silicone can help with a sticky cable. Just spray at both ends and work the cable back and forth. Also check your linkage bushings for excess wear.

So as with a lot of 56 year olds, she is not wanting to wake up and go to work. Saturday I was able to start her up and drive her out of the neighborhood and get to the gas station and back with no problems. This morning since I still have a couple of days on the temporary registration I was wanting to drive it to work today. My daughter parked the Avalon behind her and I was thinking that I will start Uma up and let her idle and warm up the carburetor and that way she will want to drive and work while move the Avalon out of the way. she started and idled for a while then sounded like she was going to stall. i pulled the choke a bit more, gave it some gas, and then she stalled. After playing that same old song and dance a couple of times she would not start. Luckily she was still in the garage. No harm, no foul.

On a side note with the advancing of time and my son soon to be a licensed driver I have been shopping for insurance for 4 drivers and 4 vehicles including Uma. I have tried those social media adds for the insurance market place and they will either only insure 2 vehicles or they don't go past 1990. In the past I have reached out to Haggarty and when they found out that it is a Land Cruiser they asked if I ever take her off road and that basically if it is anything other then a glorified dirt road they would not cover it. I am just looking for suggestions.

I've got my 4 vehicles, 1980 - 2015, insured through Progressive but just two adult drivers. Insurance actually went down significantly when I added the 62/forth vehicle.

JC Taylor or Grundy. Both were half the cost of Hagerty (who advertises a lot...). Both don't really want true off-road use. No one will cover significant offroad use, that I know of.
