What I need is another competint set of eyes to help me figure out what I am missing

Since I still haven't gotten her started I am going to make you all jealous of something you don't have. My custom seat covers are done and installed.

Here is just the passenger side.

And all of it together including the dash. I will have to do some modifications to fit the seat hardware and they will fit better.

Three peak rated. She’s a beaut!!!

When do you think your air, fuel and spark will come together and make voodoo magic..?

Hopefully soon the boy's hockey will come to an end this weekend ( hopefully with a state championship) then my weekends are free. Justin Robbins has been my tech help line and has been a huge help. Through his help I found out that first and foremost my carb isn't letting any fuel in, and secondly my timing is still a bit off. Also my riser plate for the old 1F was causing an issue since it had 1 big opening instead of 2 circles for the 2 barrel. he might have also had some choice words for the chinesium carb that I have. I have rebuilt the 2F fuel pump and that seems to be working well enough in that have fuel to the carb. But like i said no magic go go juice in the vroom vroom.

When I was an unwashed heathen and knew not my transgression(s), I too ran a Chairman Mao squirter. I bolted it on, sacrificed a chicken, downed a ceremonial saki toast while facing east and voila..Ran it for two years or so until JImC sprinkled go fast dust on a box of “carb parts” I sent him.

It’s hit or miss with them, sometimes they go bang, sometimes they don’t. I still have Mao sitting on a sleeper shelf waiting to be activated. You never know 🆘.

It may seem like Uma (insert any 40 series) is a jealous mistress who demands all your attention, $$$ and won’t take no for an answer but, what else are you going to obsess over, a Geo Tracker?

@Chungas Revenge Jeff, that first sentence almost broke my brain.
Dan, the fuji carbs from city racer are legit.

Amen to that.

I wish I would have read that before a meeting I attended today. The first line would have been clutch to drop.

Always learning -thx @Chungas Revenge for both the word salad masterclass and laugh.

So here is some of the updates. I haven't had the time to devote to the old girl as my son's hockey season was winding down. In which he went 22-1-0 with the only loss coming in the finals of the state championship 😞. Now I will be able to devote time to get again. Anyway (my ADHD meds haven't kicked in yet this morning) I have been in contact with Justin Robbins @RLMS from redline Land Cruisers and he has been invaluable on helping me get it back to running. I have probably been super annoying yet he still takes my calls and texts. I got the new rebuilt fuel pump installed and getting fuel to the carb. And again with Justin's help back off with the carb and a gasket from @yotadude520 for the carburetor I took it apart and found that my float was upside down ( add that to the list of ever growing ID10T codes) for that situated and measured out with help from watching @pinhead on YouTube. When I took the carburetor off I found the source of the vacuum leak

I got a new to me heat riser that is actually meant for the 2 barrel carb.

I also found out that my dizzy was about ½ a tooth retarded and was essentially firing at or just after 0° TDC and that with some "adjusting" of the side cover and distributor it looks to be right on the money for 7° BTDC.

Now I have to put it all back together 🤞🙏🏼.

Through lots of help I feel as though I am getting closer and now I have the time to actually work on her. Can someone with a 2F and the "Millennium Falcon" air cleaner desmoged send me a picture of the vacuum lines and locations.

Dan, I de-smogged mine, but it's a later model that is probably quite different than yours. I'll attach a Jim C.-anointed de-smog schematic that is more generic for most years of 2F. It shows you everything you need to keep, and where it hooks up - but it's a schematic, no photos. I can help you with it if you can't figure out the initial/abbreviations.

This is what I followed for my '78 2F. No charcoal canister, BVSV's, VCV on mine.

Well I have the new carb in and plumbed and hooked up. Through the help of @RLMS I found out that my timing was too retarded (insert what ever joke you want, I know I have a hard time saying that phrase without a little chuckle at my own expense). Now I have to get the oil pump and the dizzy synced back up. Last night the boy and I cranked the motor while I primed the oil again. It feels as though it is hitting the top of the oil pump but just not falling all of the way inside. I have tonight and tomorrow before the older 2 kids high school car show on Saturday. I am a bit stressed out.

@charliemeyer007 are you stalking me I barely hit "post reply" and you already liked it. 😜

So anyone that has an HEI distributor in a 2F have the distributor really close to the push rod cover? Mine is about a couple of mm away and essentially can't go down any further. It is clocked right to 7°BTDC and I checked just now after work and I am getting oil to the top. Probably this weekend I am going to be putting in the mechanical oil pressure gauge that I got from @yotadude520 before I really start trying to get her fired up. I am going to have to adjust the valves and break in the cam still if it hasn't already been torn up.

It’s close but I have a dented side cover so there’s plenty of room

Any time a engine sits for a long time, its easy to pull the spark plugs and use the starter to spin it over until it builds oil pressure.
Today I was getting oil to the top to the rockers but I measured my distributor to the old shaft/priming tool. The old shaft went down ¼" further then what the current dizzy is sitting.
