Massive Metal Shop - New 100 series parts!

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, Skimlinks, and others.

Guessing the quantities could be fairly high as it’s 2 per LC and there are quite a few people interested.
Maybe a quick pole to determine interest?
Thanks!

damn too bad my rivet is all messed up on my rear hatch.

The first product in the shop is the 100 Series Rear Hatch Light Mount Kit. The prototype kit is shown above. It allows for the installation of auxiliary lights on the rear hatch without the need for a roof rack or other attachment points. This kit will also be great for those of you that have a low profile roof rack and don't have the room underneath to install your lights, or can't or don't want to install the lights on top of the rack. These mounts keep them nice and low, and the rack completely flat and useful.

Super simple install... bolts to the rivnuts that held in the rear wind deflector that broke off or was removed (sorry, LX guys). Features include fully adjustable slotted L brackets for various mounting options, optional inboard/outboard mounting, zero to 90-degree mounting angle to accomodate lights with minimal adjustment, full stainless steel with stainless hardware kit included. The complete kit includes a pair of mounts for both driver and passenger sides. Introductory kit price is $95 shipped (until the first small batch is sold out). After that the regular price will be $125 shipped. The design is finalized and production is underway. You can order them on the site now but they won't ship for about another week and a half.

Love It!

I’m thinking using this to install a Baja designs chase light!

Will these work with an '06 - '07 LX with removed whale-tail spoiler?

Would love to make some use of those attachment points.
@reznunt any thoughts on above?

I have removed my whale-tail, but the attachment points are still there, and would like to make use of them. For reference the circled attachment points is what I'm referring to....

Are they rivnuts?

I'd need to get my hands on an LX for that. If someone near Alta Loma wants to help out with their LX (sans whaletale) for a couple hours of prototyping they get a free set of mounts.

Cool product. So do the factory rivnuts come all the way out and then use bolts supplies in the kit to put back in the same holes?

One of my rivnuts just spins and I cannot get it out. I am going to have to try to pry it up and cut it out somehow. But if I had a pair of these brackets it would motivate me to do it. ;)

I have the same problem, especially after the rear spoiler tangled with the garage door. I took a piece of tie wire and wrapped it around the exposed nub of the rivnut (nutsert) and was able twist the wire to grip it....

I'm in Hesperia. When are you looking to do it.

Anyone else in Socal with an LX with the whaletale rivnuts (shown in the pic @sonk76 posted above) that wants to help out for a free set of mounts feel free to hit me up. If not, onto the next product coming out soon!

I always wished someone would recreate the factory transmission skidplate in the same material the engine skid was made of. Very common for the plastic skid to break mounting ears and have mounting challenges. It would fill the gap for those of us that need a replacement but don't need the cost and weight of an extreme drag it over rocks skid.

Not sure if something like that is within your capability.

For those asking, here are wider shots for better size and location perspectives. It's a really low profile mount and very compact overall. I didn't want it to be some giant, gaudy eyesore. The first picture shows the L bracket mounted inboard but it can be reversed to further separate left/right mounted lights. There are two slots in the L bracket allowing even greater flexibility.

The bracket is shown in the 90-degree position but it can also be rotated variably down to 0 degrees to install your lights with an even lower profile or for optimal positioning of the light output. For size reference, the Baja Designs S2's are about 1.5" narrower and 1" shorter than those lights installed on my Gamiviti rack. With the hatch open, there is approximately 5 inches between the top of the L bracket and the rack, enough to accommodate any light pods.

Next up... got some ditch light mounts in the works! Here's a sneak peak at my fully adjustable Massive 100 Series Dual Ditch Light Mount Kit. As you can see from the pics the mounts are adjustable to accommodate nearly any light pod and in nearly any orientation. We already know benefits of dual ditch lights is maximum front/side light coverage. With each L bracket in this kit able to rotate 180 degrees on the base plate, you have the ability to fine tune for optimum light coverage even if your light pods run out of adjustment... something the standard rigid mount can't do. Slots along both legs of the L brackets allow for even greater adjustability.

Each kit will come with driver and passenger base plates, two L brackets (M6 or M8 slots available), and the option to upgrade to four L brackets for those planning on running dual ditch lights on each side. Just a few tweaks and these hopefully will be shipping in 2-3 weeks. They should be on the site soon for preorders. My batch sizes are small right now so if these interest you then I'd consider picking them up!

Very cool, glad to see another niche vendor in the 100 space. General price on these ditch light brackets yet?

I want some ditch light mounts! Please put me on the list if you would so kindly:) But seriously this is awesome, and like I said before you have infinite adjustability and that's really what appeals to me. I only want the Drivers side for now but definitely put me on your list! Thanks!
