A ton of guys on here are using the LabRak mount, but somebody flamed me last time for the price. Be warned it is $75 for the piece $80 if you want it powder coated. You want to use a ring style coax for this mount, I found that out the hard way. So far I've had only but great experiences with my setup though. You can see what I did on a few other threads.

Can you post up what product you mean for this? I thought I had identified everything I needed for mine, but I am unfamiliar with this reference. Thanks!:)

If you're using the LabRak mount then you want to use this stud and this coax

At least in my experience the regular style coax doesn't fit with this mount.

Thanks for all the mount ideas! Do I need to worry about damaging the coax by running it out the side of the hood or trunk? I know lots of people do it but I have not heard any long term reviews of wear and tear on the cable.

You can see this in one of the other threads, but I ran mine between the weather stripping and body at the rear tailgate hatch. I've got minimal coax exposed and it doesn't move at all when I open or close the hatch. Thus resulting in minimal wear.

No, it's a 2 ft - my cruiser is on a incline, so it looks like the antenna hovers way above the roof line, but it doesn't

Uwharrie

I made my second trip to Uwharrie today. The first time I went I was on stock tires and I must say that the new ones made a huge difference. I went with Boo471, another Lexus owner. Unfortunately I got more good pictures of his truck than I did my own since I was driving it. Hopefully he will post up the pictures he took.

My little dog spike was my copilot for the day.

Boo471's GX.

Bretthn I am jealous, haven't had the chance to take my LX down there yet. I will definitely have to get caught up so I can see you on the trails.

Great pictures! Thanks for posting. I did get a few decent pictures of you. I'll post them tomorrow.

Or . . . with the LabRak mount, you could remove the tail light, dremel a notch out of the top of the tail light, and run the coax through there.

I haven't decided where I want to place the antennas on my LC yet (hood mount vs. rear hatch), but if I decide rear, that's probably how I'm going to run it - assuming I can keep a good seal.

A few pictures I managed to get (you where to quick over the obstacles for me :-)) on yesterday's ride.

Scangauge II for the LX470

I have been pretty disappointed that the LX only came with the basic trip A and trip B trip computer. I finally broke down and bought a Scangauge II. This thing is pretty handy but a little spendy for what you get. I just have it mounted with some hook and loop for now and will probably get a blendmount to go on the rearview mirror eventually.

What 4 parameters is everyone monitoring on theirs? I have mine set to show corrected MPH since my gauge is off with the bigger tires, MPG, and average MPG. I have it showing voltage too since I am undecided on what else to watch and just installed it today.

I've manually programmed in my transmission temp with comes in useful going up grades. Search and you will find instructions on how to do this.

Antenna mounted

I got my cb antenna mounted. Just need to finish running the coax now. I will try to finish it up Wednesday and get some daytime pictures of the antenna.
I went with a Firestik adjustable stainless steel hood mount, Firestik heavy duty spring, and Wilson 4 foot silver load fiberglass antenna. I hope this improves the signal of my Midland 75-822. Anyone in my area have a SWR meter and want to help me tune this thing? Will it make much difference? Here are some night shots for now.

Look fwd to see some daytime shots.
I am on the fence about installing an antenna. Wondering if it would help my radio signal - since my TJM snorkel eliminated my factory power antenna.
