Darn just finished reading the whole thread.
The lineX fade is a pity but does not look to bad.

Can't find those injectors in ZA will need to see where I can source them elsewhere or look at options.

Your turbo build is real nice. Envy.....

I have the A442f box and will need to add the heavy duty valve body on the todo list.

Thanks, I feel like this turbo build a just a warmup for my next one. Lol. Definitely do the valve body upgrade it really helped the transmission out! Really felt like it added power and kept the thing from slipping.

Also think doing an modified inlet manifold and throttle body will make a big difference and moving the W/A cooler to the other side will also lower temps.
Also A/A cooler will flow better.

Not the road trip I want, but leaving tomorrow. I might be calling all of you along the way with broken down truck issues. lol.

Let me know when you're coming thru Kansas City and we can get some BBQ!

@BILT4ME It might be around lunch on Saturday.

My first day, Friday is Moab to Junction City KS
Then Junctions City KS to Huntington WV on Saturday
Then arrive in Richmond on Sunday.

I am signing a lease on Monday and having furniture delivered on Tuesday so really no room to sightsee or breakdown. haha.

I'll PM my contact info. Joe's Kansas City BBQ (Use to be Oklahoma Joe's BBQ: "one of the 13 places you must eat before you die") isn't far off off I-70 and could be a good break for a bit.

That is some great chow, hard to get a seat during peak hours though.

aaaaand I'm at the end of this great thread. Just a lurker but wanted to say thanks as others have done for the info - definitely learned a lot and am looking forward to seeing what else you have planned.

I ended up missing work today with a bad cold. As much as I want to meet, I don't think it's a good idea.
I hope you have safe travels. Maybe catch up on the return trip.

Oh that sucks. sorry to hear about your cold.

I just got in to junction city. 13.5 hours total time, 12 hours 37 min travel time. 848 miles, with a stop at the Vail CO dog park and a stop in some place KS.

Truck did great! Learned a few things.

- 848 miles, 69.3gals of gas

-At 82-83mph the truck is just on the cusp of positive manifold pressure. Like 0.5 - 0.75psi. I have my fuel map dropping to 13:1 at positive manifold pressure. Also having that little turbo push that volume for hours will heat soak my A/W system. If you drop back just to 76mph, the truck is in vacuum 14.2:1 and no heat soak. I probably wouldn't change anything, it's not often I do 83mph for hours. and even as it was, it was totally safe running 83, when I went up to 2psi the water/meth injection kicks on.

- if you buy a 14lb bag of ice and dump the whole thing in the A/W IC tank in the middle of Kansas. An 80 with 35's, stock gears, OME heavy, armor, and a roof rack, can do 133.2mph. Lol

Get to do it all again tomorrow. :-/

Your trip picks are amazing really nice.
133mph [emoji15] roof rack must be real noisy.

What did you install for your pre and post W/A cooler temperatures?
Nice fuel consumption, wonder what it would be @ 65mph

What rpm were you seeing at 133?
I did that in my old 69 Chev 4x4 and threw out a tire plug so I had a flat the next morning on my 33's.
That's a lot of centripetal force on a tire that's not rated for that kind of speed. I know you didn't do that for long, but you can get belt separation doing that.
Good luck and hope your trip goes well !!

Fuel consumption would have been A LOT better at 65mph. I have seen high 15's driving 65. But on an 848 mile trip the difference between 65 and 83 mph is over 2 hours and 45 min in the car.

RPM's weren't bad at all. Right around 4300-4400. No didn't spend anytime at all at 133, basically just pushed it until I didn't see any more acceleration and then came off the throttle, truck quickly decelerated lol. Good advice on the tires, I don't have any plugs, but there were looking a little chunky from Moab rock. I will do a good pre-trip this morning.
