Yeah nostalgia is really the only reason for a lot of what we are all doing, but I totally agree if a motor swap isn’t personal from years ago then go with the good stuff.

Man.. I’ve been thinking hard about building one to slap in. Thanks for the extra push.
Build LS with 4L80E VS add Holley sniper to my 350 with 700r4?? That is the question.

Weigh your options for how bad you gotta have it. Your current setup will probably last for several more years, but if you’re gonna be using it a lot, you might start planning for it now and have everything you need before beginning the undertaking. Lots more to consider, but well worth it IMO.

LS for sure. Remember an overloaded FJ60 running a 2F once passed you like you were sitting still

Just like the small block Chevy the older flat head Ford is a great engine and will always hold their place in history as a the go to engine of their time, we are living in the 21st century now and the LS is the clear choice if you want inexpensive reliable power, trying to modernize and older engine is literally the definition of polishing a turd.

With the exception of the Toyota nerds that march to the beat of their own drum I see no reason to buy a Sniper fuel injection system for an old technology engine when for about the same money you can buy a modern engine that is light years ahead.
This is exactly what I’ve been thinking. For the sniper price I can have a LS.

I plan on this being my go any where anytime truck. The setup I have now is perfectly fine but I want more power and efi. Sure I could slap on these Dart racing heads I have on the shelf but then I’d be revving to 7k 😃 plus I wouldn’t mind a electronically controlled auto trans.

LS for sure. Remember an overloaded FJ60 running a 2F once passed you like you were sitting still
😂 yes you did! You were just trying to beat me to neon pig for a burger, the snake dr. mobile doesn’t want any of the sbc pig trust me 😎

Awesome trip for SSS21! 1000 miles round trip, over 15hrs of trails in the ozarks and the pig never let me down. My Dad and son Briggs had a great time as well.

On Friday after a great day of trails we drove to the nearest station from camp and refueled the pig and our coolers. This was an awesome mom and pop store, The Fillin’ Station, they had a little bit of everything and were very kind. The kids wanted a pizza but they had already shut the oven down for the day, after the lady saw the disappointed look on the kids faces she insisted that she cook them some pizza. I love little store like this and after this incident the kids do too. If you are ever near Bradleyville, MO stop by and say hi.
