Just reading thru your whole thread, great write up mate, and in the original post that is one mean awesome car trailer:D

 Spudman

on the currie setup.. is that a bolt in solution from them? same configuration as the FJ60 rear in regard to axles..spring mounts..etc? Liiking the rear disks and air locker what you going to do for the parking brake?

That Currie rear end looks totally custom, as in if he gave them the correct numbers, Currie fabricated it to be a bolt-in modification.

So with the Currie rear axle, I called them and told them what I was building and had them build the rear end to my measurements, wheel mounting flange to wheel mounting flange with a centered pinion, they included 2 spring perches and the pinion angle was determined here at the shop.....Axle has the big disk brake setup with internal drum e brake as well.....35 spline axles, 4.11 gear and ARB Air Locker....I would imagine it to be pretty tough and should exceed my requirements.....time will tell....

Looks good...currie setup. I know that they make turn-key axle setups for various GM trucks and hot-rods..probally others too. I'm sure it will do a good job for you. I've thought about going with a GM 8 lug 3/4 axle out of something like a 07 2500 HD....later on.

Nice clean setup...Yes I'm sure its about as clean as it ever will be now...

Been making progress....ran into a problem....the engine doesn't fit....can't close the hood with the valance on top of the intake...removed it and the hood closes fine....Here's the pix.....Let her rip!!!!!

First look at the new ride height.......

Slowly making progress, wiring and such, still need to mount radiator and electric fan, need to put interior back in, chased parts for a while and spent the past couple months working night shift 12+ hours a night so it has hampered my efforts, but back on dayshift so I will be back after it......Can't wait to start it up, once it starts it shold be all together.......not really anything photo worthy so I haven't updated this thread......Also need to figure out what rims/tires to go with, I can't make up my mind for size but will probly wait til it's driving to make any kind of decision.........

Looks nice and simple.

Question -> Where did you get the roof rails? I know its an odd question, but they look like something off an old Vista Cruiser (station wagon by Oldsmobile). They are nice low-profile look, dunno if they are functional, but I have been looking for some rails to drop on there versus getting a big rack. Here is an example of an 1981 -> http://hooniverse.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Fullscreen-capture-9292012-114524-AM.bmp.jpg

Keep posting details of your build- inspiring lots of cool ideas for me to get off my a$$ and tear some stuff apart (again).

No idea on the roof rails, they were on it when I got it and I thought they were stock, been making some progress....mounted the oil cooler, got the vaccuum adapter fitted and installed and fabbed radiator mounts....still need to make the mounts for the electric fan but it is progressing again.....now for the pics....

Finished up will get them tigged in this week....Top mounts will be made with the channel in the pic utilizing factory rubber so there will be minimum vibration, had to get the spacing right to ensure the radiator does not contact the oil cooler.....

Got the radiator mounts finished up yesterday and made the fan mounts as well, will get it tigged in this week....it seemed like yesterday took forever to get these mounts fabricated but as a plus once welded it will be finished, got the oil cooler lines figured out as well so will order the AN fittings I need and hopefully have them by the end of the week.....now for more pictures...
Radiator and Fan Mounts all fabbed and layed out...

Awesome build, looks really good. What are you using for the heat shield around your brake line?
The heat tape came from summit, it is this

what fuel pump did you use??
Here is the fuel pump,

Made some more progress yesterday, got the radiator tacked and fitted should get fully welded today, made the front driveshaft transfer case flange, probably 6 hours on the lathe, turned a 32 spline gm flange down, and inserted it into the stock toyota flange, I have pics to post later........

It's alive again, finally.....had to jump through a bunch of hurdles but it starts, runs and moved under it's own power, still have lots to do tailpipes, bleed brakes, put interior back in,a/c lines, not sure this list will ever be complete... had a couple issues, electric fan is popping the fuse on the high setting, need to figure it out, fuel pump was crap and would not pump fuel straight out of the box, it's the trick flow linked above, it will be going back to summit, it turns on and hums but doesn't pump fuel....spent about 2 hours messing with that and finally swapped it out with an old electric pump that was still in the back of an old totaled derby car.... so glad to finally be at this milestone...now can't wait for donuts and burnouts....and the first camping trip....here's the video of the startup....

cool...

I used a walbro external fuel pump on my 5.7, no issues with it so far. Glad you got it running...dealing with all the little things gets to be a pain, I still have some things to do on mine that I've just not ever gotten around to doing yet.
