4.54 per US gallon in Wells, ME yesterday... That's $1.20 per litre for diesel... Gas is down to $3.94 a gallon or about $1.02 per litre...

Eric, what are you waiting for tanking up in Kanawake? They have the lowest prices in Québec, and it's just a few km from downtown MTL!

Yeah i should.....

in costa rica diesel is about 4.82/gallon

Just back from Ecuador. Diesel is selling there at between $1.02 and $1.03 US a gallon: government price controls. Gasoline is near double the price.

The concept of diesel tuning hasn't quite caughten on there as testified by the 95% of the diesel engines puffing out horrendous quantities of black smoke at all elevations.

BTW, it is all full serve there but don't trust the attendent to put the right stuff in. One of them decided our Van should be diesel and topped up the top 1/2 of the tank with diesel. We caught the error before heading out on the road but had to drain the tank into a small bucket 2L at a go. The station wouldn't pay for the error and walked away with 40L of a nice 50/50 mix which I am sure they sold to someone to run in one of the many smokey motor bikes.

If only you were 8 hours closer! :)

Actually we are in the process to adjust the details for the V Convivio Costa Rica - Panamá this year .. will be in november here in Panamá ( Chiriquí ) 2 days of great mudd wheeling ..

give me more details! It would be a fun vacation. I don't know if the 80 is set up enough for your type of mud wheeling (31s, only rear locker) but driving down then co-piloting might work. I can probably bring rchalmers3 along as well-- the Central American international IH8Mud gathering!

Get yourself a poor man's locker - 4 V Bar Chains. That will help you keep up with the locked rigs in the mud. Just make sure you put them on before you get in the mud. :D

It's basic simple .. a couple of mated from the Club 4x4 Extremo Costa Rica, drive down here to Chiriquí ( that it's close province to Costa Rica )

Count 6 Hours from San José to Paso Canoas .. ( keep in mind the cerro de la muerte ) then 1 more hour to reach David, that you will found severeal options from hotel to place to make a camp ( even my mom Cabin or so .. ) the arrive are programed to friday 7 ( it can be changed ) and we have a plan to a huge BBQ this day .. drinks and relax ..

Saturday, wil be the off road day ( sat and sunday ) maybe camping in the route or doing diferent routes on sat and sunday ..

There is a thread in 4x4panama.com/foro about it .. and we are placing minimun requirement .. like lockers, 35" tires and so ..

6.2 pesos/liter was the MOST I paid for diesel in the last week driving though Mexico. That's about $2.25/gallon!! WAY better than anywhere else I filled up in the states or Canada.

Mexico is getting tougher on folks filling jerry cans before crossing the border. In Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico they refused to fill my jerry cans though (time for a long range tank I guess).

Sunday I filled up in Oroville, Washington for 4.68 a gallon. Today I filled up here in Abby at Superstore for 1.349 a liter. It dropped 5 cents a liter from Friday. Let me guess the driving season is coming to a close and they got lots of diesel on hand.

BTW, went to the Abby aishow and checked out one of the tankers. If I haven't gotten it wrong they carry over 30,000 gallons of jet fuel. Would be nice to have one of them full parked in my back yard. Just add veggie oil and go. :)

Diesel is down to $4.39/gal here in Mt. Home Idaho!!

I'm glad I went south last month, the loony has dropped pretty much in the same proportion as the fuel has been dropping lately ;)

But I'm NOT changing my drvcing habits! I've gone down all the way to 8.9 l/100 and I sticking to my soft pedal discipline, the world can wait!!!

just dropped yesterday, i drove to goderich and it was $1.35.9... visited for 2 hours and came back through and the price was $1.28.9

that reminds me ...time to phone about heating oil..
