Your being taken at the pump by your governments. [...] What you're paying is extortion.
No, Really? When did
that happen? And since when is the road system only seeing 15% of tall the taxes collected by the government for it? I say to the Governement, don't make me laugh with your useless signs saying "
we are securing the future of the 'nation' (er... it's still a province but who cares, the québecois newspeak is so common now no one even questions it)
by 'investing' in our road system"
HAVE YOU SEEN THE CONDITION OF OUR ROADS LATELY? YOU CALL THAT INVESTING WHEN IT'S SIMPLY EMERGENCY REPAIR? HAS ANYONE FORGOTTEN THE FALLEN BRIDGES? SURE, THE COMISSION WAS ABLE TO BLAME THE CONTRACTORS! GOOD SNOW JOB, MR. PIERRE-MARC JOHNSON!
How is it that, in this province, we are the highest taxed for fuel in North America yet we have one of the worst road systems, if it's not simple,
government-approved extortion?! I guess it cost a lot of money to get all these lawyers and governement official to dicusss the condition of our roads and the reason they are in such poor condition
when nothing has been done for them for decades... Yeah, Right!!! When I see these expensive signs and TV commercials trying to convince us they are doing great work when a simple drive on these 'roads' would be sufficient to convince
anyone of their appalling condition, I just cringe...
In the meantime that
rag the '
Journal de Montreal' cries foul to scandal when a couple of crooked politicians and profiteers take in millions (the so-called 'scandale des commandites',
let me laugh!), when it's NOTHING compared to the enormity of the CON the public is served
by a fuel taxation system that diverts 85% to general funding and that NOBODY questions!!!
Oh and by the way... Have you seen Montreal from the air lately? It's such a patchwork of asphalt it looks like it's been bombed!!! even the Formula 1 drivers complain about the appaling condition of our so called "world class racing track"!!!
GAW! The hypocrisy of those in power knows no bounds...
Time for a Revolution, I say!
