Not very comfortable, but quite practical.

Had Recaros in front none in back before, now Honda seats and a Prado folding rear seat. Mix and match just like the rest of my rig lol.

Kragen Auto Seats

Nice set up...Off subject but had to ask. I am curious about your e brake set up. Did you install it to the side like that? I am planning to do the same as per a post I made about floor mounted e brakes. Works okay? Anything you can share with would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob

I put FJ60 running gear in the FJ40, so the e-brake is off of a fj60, works great.

No doubt about that.

Here are my seat pictures. 2002 4runner SR5 Leather seats. (The FJ40 originals in the basement) Bottoms have been re-covered (the bottoms were basically wasted when I got them) with marine vinyl but a little darker in a GM color. The seat sags a lot when in the direct sun and not very much like the original Leather.... I want to ditch the whole seat project and move back to stock frames with a better fabric, although 4runner seats are actually very ergo dynamic and allow me to be more comfortable on long days. The color on my tuffy is also not right but who cares...

BTW (hijack), Do you see my hardtop standing against the wall as it if is almost invisible? The best way to store it IMHO....

Not sure how old these are, they were in the 40 when I bought it.

It aint about the seats. It's about the seat cover.:cool:

I'm doing this conversion. They bolted right up? 78 didn't have the storage box under the driver's seat, you added that right?

I'd be interested to see more pics of how they mount especially around the transmission hump.

The tub is a 72 hence the storage box. I would think you could fabricate the drivers seat to your current mounts. Weld and paint and your good to go.

1970 2 piece split bench with long jumpseats (the kind with the angled fronts). You kind of have to use your imagination at this point. The seats reside in my living room to serve as daily inspiration to get off my duff and finish up.

Seats were recovered thanks to new seatcovers from Cruiser Corps and layers of high density seat foam from my local upholstery shop. The frames got sandblasted and powdercoated "stainless steel", which ends up looking a lot like pewter. I've had most of my accent pieces powdercoated the same color, so an exact match isn't really an issue. The seatcovers are black instead of the period correct dark grey. The cruiser itself is going to be grey so I wanted a little more contrast.

The seats look nice! I'm anxious to work on mine.
